Description
|
This charming, comfortable and well-appointed cottage is located in the dark sky community of Lion's Head. It is located on the 45th parallel (between the equator and the North Pole) and within a designated World Biosphere Protected Area. Additionally, the well-known Bruce Trail runs right through the village. This 4 season getaway is a wonderful way for couples, families and/or friends to experience a vacation retreat.
A two minute walk away from the cottage is Isthmus Bay - a clean, sandy and welcoming beach complete with a nicely equipped children's playground. The marina, with full services, a transient dock for visitors and a boat launch is perfect for boaters, cottagers and sailors.
In Lion's Head you can relax and unwind without ever having to get into your car. The village offers a; bakery, convenience store (coffee shop, ice cream parlour, movie rental, etc.), curiosity shops, grocery store, hardware store, liquor/beer store, pharmacy, pub (with the best Friday night unlimited fish'n'chips), restaurants and toy store. Other services include a hospital, library, medical clinic, OPP station, post office and fire station. The village has both a Catholic and United church. Summers come to life at the beach park with Friday night live music concerts and a Saturday morning farmers market. Art and garden tours are offered approx. 2-3 times during July and August.
If day trips are what you are looking for The Bruce Peninsula and Georgian Bay has much to offer. Exploring the area you can experience the splendour of nature, at its finest, and the escarpment cliffs. The cottage is centrally located to points of interest; Cyprus Lake Park, Sauble Beach, Tobermory (30 minutes) where you will find; boat tours to Flowerpot Island, Bruce Peninsula National Park, Chi-Cheemaun Ferry, Fathom Five National Marine Park, glass-bottomed boat tours to view shipwrecks, scuba-diving, and excellent restaurants and shopping. Other area activities include; fishing, golf courses, horseback riding, lighthouses, mountain biking, etc.
This 1 ½ story 1350 sq. ft. cottage is decorated in the classic beach style. The main level has a large living room with an adjacent T.V. room, kitchen/dining area, 4 piece bathroom and mudroom. The second level has 3 gable-ceiling bedrooms; one with a queen size bed, one with a double size bed and one with four single beds.
The T.V. room includes cable, DVD and stereo. The kitchen includes a full size fridge, stove, microwave oven, coffee maker, tea kettle, dishes, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans, etc. Please note that this is not a housekeeping cottage. For your convenience all bedroom and kitchen linens are included! Just ask if basic baby items are needed.
The cottage sits on a double lot with a large private treed back area. A deck with patio furniture and propane barbeque, badminton, firepit, hammock area and horseshoe pit are things available for you to do while you laze away your days.
Rental Conditions:
A deposit of 50% is required at the time your booking is confirmed. The remaining balance, of 50%, (along with a refundable $300.00 security deposit) is due 2 weeks prior to arrival. The security deposit will be returned, in full, if no damage is noted upon check-out inspection and cleaning. Payments may be made by a Canadian money order or certified cheque.
Weekends are available during July and August on a 3-night minimum basis. Please check with owner regarding rates.
