We spent the third week of September 2017 at the cottage. It was truly fantastic. We were fortunate enough to have unseasonably hot weather so were able to enjoy at least 2 swims a day in the lake surrounded by beauty and tranquility. Best ever swimming! We also enjoyed paddling around the lake in the paddle boat.
The cottage was very comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen and lovely views of the lake. Lovely little balcony off the master bedroom. Outdoor furniture is plentiful so we could enjoy the view and watch the birds and chipmunks from a few vantage points and be in the sun or shade as preferred.
Wonderful selection of books and games which provided a great opportunity to enjoy an internet/tv free holiday ? what a treat!
Location conveniently close to Wakefield but far enough to be immersed in the serenity and beauty of nature. Hope to stay here again in the future.

We were very pleased with virtually everything about this cottage. It is beautifully quiet here, absolutely serene. There were rarely other people on the lake, it was like we had the lake for ourselves. It was the last week of summer before Labour day, so it seems this was a good choice for us. Some kind of building was going on all day on the other side of the lake (perhaps road construction or grading for a new cottage) but it was far enough away not to be bothersome.

The cottage has everything, it is very well outfitted. We really loved the firepit, it's perfect, and the large indoor fireplace came in handy on several cool evenings and one rainy day. The cottage is located close enough to Wakefield and Parc Gatineau so we could enjoy all they had to offer, and Nordik spa is not far away and we went there one afternoon also. We hiked and biked in the area, and we took the kayak, canoe and paddle boat out on the water.

The only small problem was the northern exposure of the dock, so the sun was gone from it by about 1:00 p.m., however, then on sunny days, we just made our way up to the cottage deck and enjoyed the afternoon sun there, or we used the afternoons to go for ice cream in town, or go hiking or biking in the area.

We were comfortable for sleeping, and the bathroom with it's Mexican feel, is very appealing. the cottage is cozy and has a lot to offer. We loved our holiday here!

What a great find this cottage is. Neida is a fine host and answered our questions very promptly both before and during our stay. The cottage is in a beautiful setting with turtles, hummingbirds and more. Inside, it had everything we needed in its well-equipped kitchen and living room all set up for relaxing. The beds were very comfortable and had quality blinds if you didn't want to get up with the sun. Nice selection of books, sporting goods and watercraft gave us lots of choices. Plus, you can't go wrong with being close to the shops in Wakefield and an easy drive into Ottawa. We look forward to coming back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Edelweiss cottage. The location was perfect for our family visiting from Ottawa. The cottage is not only picturesque but also has an incredibly well stocked kitchen. The lake is quiet and perfect for a relaxing swim or ride in a canoe.
We all enjoyed the extensive library and even a few games of backgammon. The only thing missing for our adult children was another kayak so that we could all go out on the lake together as the weather was perfect. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing. Thank you to the owners!
