Large, secluded country paradise on 140 acres, with expansive views of rolling forest and field in all directions, in a region with many rivers and small lakes, and close to the larger beaches on Georgian Bay and Lake Huron. Great fishing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, exploration opportunities. In the heart of an area rich in culture ... arts, craftspeople, music, theatre, biodynamic (organic, Waldorf) farming community. Breathe in clean oxygen-rich air(and enjoy the pristine environment, basking in the sounds of nature). Breathe out the noises and tensions of city life. Visitors always comment on the harmony, peace and relaxation they feel here. We're an easy drive from Toronto and other parts of Southern Ontario.
Two decks, a gazebo and a large screened porch, two firepits for bonfires, 140 acres of forest, field and a bit of wetland. Lots of running space, hiking and exploration possibilities, Styx River at foot of property. Saugeen River system and many small lakes for swimimg fishing, canoeing, kayaking; in easy driving range of golf, downhill skiing (cross-country and snowshoeing out the door), karge beaches on Georgian Bay and Lake Huron, Bruce Trail, conservation areas. Music and theatre festivals, many artists, musicians and artisans in area, old Amish community and organic sustainable farming abound. Many artists studio tours (Fall and Spring). Close to Owen Sound (Summerfolk Festival), Hanover, Durham and Markdale.
Waterfront: We are not directly on water (safe for young kids) but on the Saugeen River System with a small river along the property. A marked trail takes you to a deck and picnic table on the river's edge. Nearest local beach is 15min away, the larger Lake Huron and Georgian Bay ones are 30-40min away.
Heating: Clean, comfy radiant floor heating throughout (oil furnace), with passive solar in a well-insulated, solidly built custom house.

Equipments:
This is a very welcoming and gracious house. The south end has cathedral ceilings and consists of: a large, charming, eat-in kitchen, equipped for gourmet cooking, with a screened porch off it; well-stocked library/diningroom off kitchen; broad hallway (almost an extra room)to large, bright livingroom, with fireplace, long trestle banquet table (for large groups or game playing), french doors onto decks; laundry room/two piece bathroom. The north end consists of a large entry hall with stairway (and stairlift) down to lower level; two bedrooms (queen-sized) with doors onto decks, large office, oversized bathroom with corner tub, accessible shower stall and separate toilet/sink area. There are many windows and great views throughout the main level, and radiant floor heating and HRV throughout the house. The lower level consists of: very large sunroom/bedroom with king & twin beds which doubles as a playroom; 2 large bedrooms with queens and 3 other bedrooms with doubles etc. In total we can sleep 25-35+ in beds.
