Cozy, unique, post and beam chalet located 45 minutes from downtown Ottawa. The chalet is situated on a large treed property overlooking Lac St Pierre. The ground floor features a kitchen, eating area, and living area. The second floor features a double bed, day bed, and bathroom with shower. The cottage has 2 separate decks, one overlooking the lake (through trees) and the second, overlooking fields. The deck overlooking the lake is fairly private and gives you the feeling of being in an enchanting tree house. Grazing deer, in the adjacent field, add to the charm. The chalet is adjacent to the main house on the property. You have full access to a dock which is a 1 minute walk from the chalet when the owners are not visiting (principally weekdays). At the dock, the waterfront is sandy for the first 25 feet, after which it becomes deep. You can dive off the end of the dock, and the shallow area closest to shore is excellent for younger children. The property also features a natural beach which is a 3 minute walk north from the chalet past the main house. The owners have provided access to the beach to three other properties, however it is rarely used. One of these owners has however installed a dock (which is visible in the photo entitled "Sandy bottom at beach") and therefore this dock is not to be used. The property is heavily frequented by deer who come to eat from the crab apple trees which are about 50 feet from the chalet. NOTE: The chalet is not suitable for young children or for persons with mobility restrictions. The ceiling on the ground floor (kitchen and eating area) is low, and therefore not ideal if you are taller than about 6'4"). Address: 32 Ch du Paradis Val-des-Monts, QC, J8N 2S9 Canada Tel 613-222-5773
Equipment: This quaint chalet is fully furnished. There is WiFi/internet but it can be slow at times. The TV is set up to play movies and there are a bunch of DVD movies available. There is strong cellphone reception and a full size washer and dryer.

| The Mystique Chalet was a perfect blend of quaint, quiet and quality. The accommodations were exactly as described and everything was provided. The lake was clean and access was easy. Julianne & Mark were fantastic hosts and we will definitely return to this hidden gem.

| Mystique Chalet is lovely. Quaint, pretty, quirky, multi-leveled, homey, clean. The bed is comfortable. The DVD player works, and there are a few movies. The dining table is perfect for jigsaw puzzles (which they have two of... I recommend the 1000-piece Edward Gorey one.)
Mark and Julianne are hospitable and friendly. They invited us for drinks one night, we had them over for boardgames the next. Wonderful, relaxed, thoughtful hosts. They loved our dog, even when he was being hyper and nosy.
The property was great. Lots of soft grass to walk barefoot on. Beautiful lake for swimming, relxing, playing, kayaking. The dock is perfect for relaxing on. Loads of deer, chipmunks, blue jays, and a patchy albino squirrel. Our dog was constantly hunting or swimming (or both, when he saw ducks in the water.)
The profile is clear the dock may not be available during the weekend when they're visiting.
