My partner and I had an absolutely wonderful time at The Cedars. We loved it so much we decided to extend our stay! We lucked out with a stretch of sunny and mild November weather. Dave and Jane were welcoming and accommodating and made us feel right at home. The cottage was clean and spacious. We enjoyed a fire every morning and evening in the woodstove - wood was provided. The cottage is right at the edge of the water. So lovely to hear the sound of the waves. We also got to witness some pretty epic sunsets and starry nights! There's a trail system within walking distance from the cottage that we hiked every day with a couple of spectacular lookouts. And having access to a canoe for paddling around Palmerston Lake was great! There's a public island with a fire pit and picnic table a short paddle away. Internet at the cottage was reliable - we used it for work video conferences without any problem. There's a restaurant at the Freshmart in Plevna that does pretty good take-out pizza if you want to take a night off from cooking.

Thanks Dave and Jane for a wonderful stay. We hope to visit The Cedars again in the future!

One of the best spots, vey calm and beautiful.
Definitely recommend a stay here, very clean and accommodating. Dave and Jane were very kind and welcoming. Excellent design with everything exactly it needs to be! I would love to own something this cozy in the city!
If we could we would stay longer, much recommended.

Thank you Jane and Dave.

We enjoyed an amazing four days and nights at the ?Cedars?. This cabin stay exceeded our expectations in so many ways. The view, the peacefulness, the hosts and surrounding neighbours, the canoe, your own deck that seriously couldn't be any closer to the water. You can sit inside and have an amazing view while you eat, read or just enjoy nature. We went out in the canoe and explored the local island, got close to loons, and paddled for hours when the weather was good. There are also several shorter hiking trails within a ten minute walk, and beautiful roads to walk on as well. Doug and Jane are nearby and the sweetest hosts you could want. Very approachable and make themselves available for any questions or needs you might have. The cabin itself is so much bigger than you would expect, with lots of storage and great comfort for your stay. Loved our stay on Palmerston Lake; we will be back!

We just spent a great week at The Cedars and only wish we were still there! The cottage itself is much bigger than it appears in the photos/video and super clean. The best thing was the amazing view of the lake and changing colours of fall. We were able to explore the area with a few day trips to Perth, Merrickville, Almonte, etc which was really great! There is a cheese maker about 30 mins south that is also worth a visit. The area also has a lot of maple syrup producers--great to pick up for those morning pancakes. Thank you to Dave and Jane for being great hosts-they live on the property, but we never felt intruded upon and loved the few conversations we had with them.

We just returned from a lovely week at the Cedars. Dave and Jane are perfect hosts: helpful, kind and respectful. The website pictures are a good representation of the cottage which was a perfect fit for the two of us, but the photos simply can't do justice to the beauty of the lake and surrounding area and the views from the main room, just a few feet from the lake itself. It was normally quite quiet and we enjoyed the privacy of the deck near the water. The lake is clear, fresh and inviting. Lovely trails to walk very nearby. The cottage itself was very clean and well maintained and had everything we needed.
