Only registered guests permitted on premises, no visitors. We are located in a quiet family neighbourhood and welcome guests looking for a quiet, relaxed holiday. We are not a party venue nor are we a destination for special events.
This traditional Quebec chalet is nestled at the base of Vorlage ski hill, a mere five minute walk to Wakefield center village. Light filled and spacious with living area spread over three floors this chalet accomodates 10 persons comfortably. The main floor features a great room with cathedral ceiling with comfy sofas and high efficiency wood stove. The modern kitchen has breakfast bar and stools and stainless appliances including dishwasher, a separate dining area overlooking the ski hill. Masterbedroom conveniently located on main floor and a powder room. French doors lead to a spacious deck with year round hot tub. Second floor features a loft space with sleep sofa and additional bedroom with queen size bed. Lower level features a walkout to stone patio, mud room, lounge area with ping pong table and fusball, entertainment unit, full bathroom and two additional bedrooms.
The historic village of Wakefield is as charming and picturesque as any you'll ever see. Nestled in the Gatineau Hills with the Gatineau River running beside it's main street, Wakefield is a destination for nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, cultural afficanados and foodies.
Fancy water sports? The pristine Gatineau River is easily accessible from the chalet for a refreshing swim or a leisurely paddle. Kayak and canoe rentals located close to the public dock. Explore the mighty Gatineau Park situated on the western edge of the village, with hundreds of kilometres of wilderness trails for hiking and biking. Access 3 golf courses all within an easy 15 minute drive.
Home to many renowned visual artists, artisans, musicians and actors, Wakefield is a cultural playground with it's theatre productions, film festivals, art galleries, craft shops, and live music venues including the famous Black Sheep Inn.
Wakefield boasts a number of fantastic restaurants ranging from take-away sushi, pizza and poutine to fine dining with live jazz. Local shops cater to foodies offering organic produce and meats, amazing baked goods and homemade ice cream and chocolate.
