Spectacular waterfront property just before the Big Island causeway! The home is a 1344 sq. ft bungalow with attached garage. This bright cheery home welcomes you and caters to the fantastic views through all the windows that provide so much natural lighting. Sit and enjoy your morning coffee in the 3 season screened sunroom. The main floor consists of a master bedroom with ensuite, 2 additional bedrooms, 1 full bathroom and an open concept kitchen/ dining/livingroom that is cozy and comfortable. There is a fully developed basement with a big screen tv, games table and treadmill. There is also a 1/2 bath in the basement. 4 acres of manicured lawn allows you to enjoy peace and tranquility or fun and games with the family.
Bring your bikes and you can safely bike 5 km enjoying the ocean view and continue an additional 6 km to the end of the island. The property boarders the estuary where you can canoe or kayak enjoying the peacefulness of the area or taking in the abundant bird life. 10 km of sandy beach is a mere 400m from the house where you can swim, walk, run and look for sea glass. Big Island beach is on the Northlumberland Strait which has been termed the 'warmest waters north of the Carolina's'.
Beach towels, beach chairs and cooler are provided.
The house has a fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher and all amenities including wifi, satellite tv, local telephone, hair dryer, iron, washer and dryer.
Located on the Sunrise Trail this is a perfect location, a scenic 25 minute drive to either New Glasgow or Antigonish. Only 2.2 km away is the LBR Gas Bar, NSLC and Variety Store.

| Marvelous seaside home with stunning views of the Northumberland Strait and an adjoining lagoon teaming with bird life - great blue herons, bald eagles, kingfishers, cormorants and more. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, loving the peaceful tranquility, amazing sunsets and laid back beach life at our doorstep. We felt immediately at home in this cozy, well equipped and beautifully decorated cottage. The cottage was sparkling clean and had every amenity you could want to enjoy home cooked meals, outdoor barbeques, beachside picnics and evening table games. It is a wonderful location to explore the Cape George coastline and the rolling treed valleys near Merigomish. Our host Angelina responded promptly to all our requests and provided us with many travel tips, offering warm and generous hospitality. We highly recommend this cottage and would love to visit again soon!

| Our family of six had planned a getaway to celebrate a special birthday together. This beautiful house and location exceeded all our expectations.
The house was impeccably cleaned and stocked with everything we could possibly need.
Lots of space to spread out, comfortable beds, and nice furniture.
The owners were very helpful leading up to our arrival.
We had a wonderful week and will recommend the Big Island Getaway house to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing place to stay. And the sunsets over the water are spectacular!

| We had an amazing week at this beautiful cottage. The area itself is gorgeous and the cottage was by far one the nicest VRBO rentals we have stayed in (and we have stayed in many both within Canada and throughout the USA & Europe. This cottage is spotlessly clean, very comfortable and nicely decorated. It is very well stocked with everything one would need in the kitchen and all of it is good quality items (pots and pans, kitchen appliances both large & small, kitchen gadgets & tools..... everything was top notch). It is very private and the views are absolutely stunning. Thank you again Angie for sharing your home with us...... it made the trip that much more enjoyable.

| What a lovely place this was! Stayed here with my husband and mother-in-law as a home base for the Special Olympics national games in Antigonish, and it was central to everything we did including a day trip to PEI. Angie's cottage was clean and well maintained, had plenty of space to relax, bedrooms were nice, beds were super comfy, loved the sitting room, kitchen was so well stocked, and the sunsets from the deck were nothing short of stunning!! Angie was super friendly and easy to work with leading up to our stay, and answered any questions quickly while we were there. Some local food: lunch at Dockside Cafe in Arisaig (20 mins away - scenery is great, and beach is nice...you have to go!), burgers, fish & chips from the food truck at the gas station 3 mins away were really good. Sunrise trail has some beautiful scenery and stops, it's a must-see. Thank you Angie for sharing your Big Island get away, we had a great time!

| We enjoyed our week exploring Bid Island. The cottage is very clean and spacious and is as described. The three bedrooms upstairs are adjacent to each other, the screened in porch was great for enjoying the amazing sunsets. The beach is a short walk but a few kms to the sandy beach that is accessible at many points along the road. A great location for exploring Antigonish area. Angie was quick in replies and booking was easy. Will definitely stay again!!!
