This is a 2 bedroom cottage, 10 minutes south of Arden and 45 minutes north of Napanee. It is a quiet place, on a small pretty lake, with good fishing and swimming. There is a dock, lounging chairs, a deck, barbeque and fire pit near the lake. There are good views of the lake from the cottage, a TV (only one channel), DVD player (many DVDs for adults and kids), fire place, fully equipped kitchen, composting toilet (works fine), good size shower and 2 bedrooms, one with 2 twin beds and the other small bedroom with a king size bed (two beds put together). We have recently finished a bunkie with 2 single beds, electricity and a portable toilet.
With the cottage on one side being up by the road and not visible, there is considerable privacy. On the other side of the cottage is a house, but it is about 30 feet away, with trees between the properties.
There is a row boat and canoe, and several water noodles. There are 3 life jackets in the outhouse. There is gradually entry into the water which is great for small children. The water is clear up to about 5 feet, then gets weedy for about 10 feet, and then is wonderful for swimming. The water is clean and warm.
Tamworth is 20 minutes south with a great bakery and grocery store. Heading north/
east is Sharbot Lake with another grocery store (1/2 hour drive), which is a pretty little town, with a big public beach. There are two provincial parks nearby and a very cool beach for kids where they can cover themselves in soft clay.
Please note - there is a steep driveway into the cottage (length of about 250 feet), If you have an AWD you can drive down the hill to park beside the cottage. If you don't have an AWD, you are best to park at the top of the property and walk down the hill with your groceries, drinking water etc. It's manageable but a bit of hassle and not suitable if you have mobility issues.
