Beautiful cottage on a non-motorized lake. Cottage was clean, sunlit interior and good breeze flow. There were fans for the 2nd level to keep us cool at night. We had 4 children ages 1 - 9. The older threel learned to kayak and were quite proud of their accomplishment. Pan fish were caught by the kids off the dock....again a big hit! Swimming was weed free, but the lake did get deep. All the kids wore life jackets which were at the cottage for our use. The screened in porch was our place for every meal...nice to be bug free. The hot tub was enjoyed by the adults as well as the standup paddle board and tandem kayak.
The kitchen was great to cook in....we could have more than one person and not feel crowded. Coffee, salt, sugar, toilet paper, paper towels, dish towels, soap and more were provided.
There was a tv downstairs but we never turned it on...even though we had a downpour one afternoon.
The owners were great to deal with. They answered our texts and emails promptly ...suggesting hikes in the area and any other concerns we had.
We enjoyed our stay so much, we all agreed and we booked it for next summer!

We rented this cottage as part of an annual company getaway prior to a busy time of year. I must say that this has been one of the best places we have stayed at. It had a lot of room inside and out to accommodate 8 adults. The kitchen was well stocked with staples and everything in the cottage worked as it should.

There was not shortage of activities to keep our guys entertained and the hot tub was a really nice added touch. For the few of us that went swimming, I will admit the water is realty nice. There are no weeds near the dock which makes it ideal for swimming. The use of the watercrafts provided was also a nice added touch for entertainment. We had a few people that enjoyed their first cottage experience and they apsolutely loved. The cottage owners were easy to reach during our stay and have some nice recommendations for hikes that we also took advantage of. I would certainly recommend this place.

Hi Nuno,

Thanks for the great review. Glad to hear the team had a great time, and good luck with the upcoming busy season!

Wow what a find, this is a superbly located cottage only a couple of hours or so from the hustle and bustle of Toronto. The cottage is very well kitted out with many small touches that make it so easy to relax on arrival and immediately start to enjoy the holiday. We had a week of total relaxation, sitting in the sun watching the wildlife, playing in the lake with the various watercraft provided, especially the two man kayak and the pedalo and exploring the local area. We all tried our hand at fishing (and were all very successful!) from the dock and managed to catch many bass and even a few trout. The cottage has many great touches especially the covered deck which facilitates bug free sitting out in the evening for dinner. The nearest town of Bancroft can supply anything you will need for your stay and is worth a walk round. 2/3rds of the way to Bancroft on the right hand side is a very good traditional butchers, not the cheapest but the quality is first rate (Red Steer). A must is a trip to Algonquin Park, only an hour and a half drive from the cottage, it was so good we went twice and were rewarded with a close encounter with a moose.

We were provided an absolutely first rate lake cottage experience and we all would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience real Canada. Thanks to RaeAnn and Marius for being such good hosts and sharing their fabulous property with us.
Many thanks Janice, Adrian and family, Edinburgh.

Hi Janice,
We're glad you had a great time. Thanks for the beautiful pictures!
And how bid was that bass?!!

A beautiful setting on a small lake, Ann Oaks cottage is a great spot for a summer getaway. The screened in porch is awesome for evening dinners and playing games, the kitchen is beautiful and fully stocked (fresh waffles, anyone?) and our crew made use of the kayaks, paddle boat and canoe. We had a wonderful holiday here.

Hi Josh - Thanks for the great review. We're glad you had a wonderful stay. We look forward to hosting you and your family again!

Beautifully situated cottage area. Cottage was very clean, proprietors very accommodating and friendly and have a very solid handle on customer service from start to finish. Cottage has all amenities in good condition. Dockage and boats provided. We had good time there and beautiful scenery with the colors of the trees at peak. Enjoyed our stay there.
