My group and I had an absolutely lovely time over the Thanksgiving weekend at the cottage. The kitchen was fairly well stocked for cooking, all the bedrooms were comfortable, there is a large open communal space, the views were gorgeous and the lakefront access was great for some kayaking in the autumn sun. The cottage was also extremely close to Bruce Peninsula Provincial Park and other main trails for hiking, which our group greatly enjoyed. When we had any issues, Joanne and Jeff were quick to respond and very helpful. The only issue with the cottage we really had was the internet-- more than 1 connected device streaming made it very difficult to use the internet (although this was a good way to unplug for the weekend haha). Overall a lovely experience and we look forward to possibly returning in the future!!

Thank you, Joy, for your review!
I wish you would have let us know about your troubles with the internet during your stay. I am sorry to hear this now! Possibly unplugging the modem would have fixed the problem. Also, that isn't how the internet normally is there and we should have called our provider to look into the problem. While it may not be as fast as in the city, the Wi-Fi can handle more usage than that. Many guests in the past have 'worked from home' from the cottage without issue. We will look into this issue for sure. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
You are welcome back anytime!

Had a great stay here at Life of Leisure in August for a week. The cottage is very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. It is a great location on the water, with good access for swimming and kayaking. We brought our own SUP's as it is in a cove protected from the wind. I suggest bringing water shoes as the area is rocky along the shore.
There are 2 nice muskoka chairs by the water and there are also chairs and a picnic table to use around the campfire. There driveway allows for parking for a few cars. The upper deck area is great for outdoor eating with a large BBQ to use as well as a nice view of the lake from there. Very nice decorative touches all throughout the cottage. We used the basement area to do yoga, which also has a big window and a nice view of the water.
The location is great- Singing Sands beach is just down the road and the entrance to the Grotto and Half-Way log dump are very close. Tobermory is just a short drive as well.
The owners are very friendly and helpful and were quick to respond to any questions. They even helped us when we a flat bike tire or two.
It is a great place to watch the sunsets- from the dock or even from the large living room window that looks out at the lake. Thank you for such a wonderful week!!

Owner response:
Thanks, Kathy! Jeff and I are so glad that you enjoyed your stay at the cottage! You had a stellar week for being on or at the water and watching sunsets, for sure!
Thanks for leaving the cottage nice and tidy, too! You are definitely welcome to return!

We recently stayed at the Life of Leisure cottage and had a wonderful time. Amazing view with the best sunsets! The cottage was clean and comfortable from the moment you walk in. The owners were wonderful to deal with, extremely responsive to any inquiry we made. You can tell they want their guests to feel at home. Little touches did not go unnoticed.
Our son loved the ping pong table in the basement. We used the kayaks a few times and enjoyed the water.
Location is perfect, so close to everything Singing Sands, Tobermory, restaurants including a local bakery off hyw 6 that has the best treats!
We look forward to staying again.

What a beautiful cottage! Great view, water is shallow for kids, kayaks available along with life jackets etc. We had 8 of us and it was so much fun. We had no problems with air conditioning as we asked Joanne to set it to a temperature and we were good all week. This cottage is equipped with everything. Even the bathrooms had jars with supplies in case you forgot something. Such as tooth brushes and q-tips etc. Jeff and joanne have literally thought of everything. Thanks again for a beautiful stay!

We walked in the door and we were home. Clean, well decorated and not cluttered, comfortable beds and furniture, well stocked kitchen, everything needed is there. We were looking for some quiet relaxing time and were rewarded at Life of Leisure with the bonus of herons, hawks, beavers, fish and of course breathtaking sunsets and finished the night with a fire. The location is perfect within minutes of singing sands, the grotto, the arch lighthouses and of course Tobermory. We all had a wonderful, relaxing week and thank Joanne and Jeff and when our schedules become clear for next year we will definitely hope to return
