Ever wonder what a true log home is like to live in? Come and enjoy our beautiful cottage, located on 7 very private acres with over 250 feet of Lake Ontario waterfront in the southeast corner of Prince Edward County. For 2021, we have a fully validated Prince Edward County short term rental license which means that we are in full compliance with government requirements. This ensures the cottage meets all safety and zoning requirements for a short terms rental facility in Prince Edward County, but has necessitated a rate increase. Please note that we are also expecting the County to also charge a 4% accommodation tax. I am not sure if we have to add this and remit to the government, or if the renter has to pay separately, but either way this is not something we have any control over and is apparently becoming a common occurrence in Canadian vacation hotspots. Inside the secluded log home cottage you will find a comfortable open-concept living space incorporating a spacious seating area, adjoining dining and kitchen area and newly renovated bathroom. The living space features a cozy wood stove as well as a well-equipped kitchen - perfect for a couple that want to get away from it all, or a family that wants to spend quality time together. It is also air-conditioned for your summer enjoyment. Explore Lake Ontario's Prince Edward Bay by kayak, relax under the mature maples that line the waterfront, or use the cottage as a base to experience the County. Lake Ontario is ideal for swimming. It is cooler than the Bay of Quinte, but bright and clear. The shoreline is shale and can be slippery (please review the photos). Water shoes are recommended. Please remember that the waterfront is unsupervised and is to be used accordingly. A 45 foot dock provides access to the water. Steeped in history and rich in natural features, the Little Bluff Conservation Area is about a 20 minute walk from Prince Edward Bay Cottage. The conservation area is located atop a 20 metre high limestone bluff which commands a panoramic view of Prince Edward Bay and its rugged shoreline. Below the bluffs and just to the south is a unique cobblestone beach, accessible by way of a walkway and staircase. This quiet shoreline is actually a barrier beach, effectively protecting a small wetland from the windswept waters of Prince Edward Bay. The wetland is home to Canada geese, mallards, great blue herons, bitterns and Virginia rails as well as a host of migrating birds.
The park has 1.5 km of trails within its 28 hectares (70 acres), and is ideal for cross country skiing during winter months.

They are used at the guests own risk. + VIEW MORE - COLLAPSE Other Town/Lake/Area: | The cottage is 20 minutes from Picton |

| This was our second stay at Prince Edward Bay Cottage and we were thrilled to discover back in July that there was an open week at the end of September. Remembering how much we had enjoyed our first stay, we reached out to Jonathan and Bev to confirm it was really available....and not a mirage! With the booking confirmed, we waiting patiently for the end of September. Just as we remembered, the log cabin is warmly appointed and the location startlingly peaceful. There is very clearly pride of ownership; Jonathan & Bev have created a truly memorable place to get away from the city. We have stayed at many properties in the County over many years and Prince Edward Bay Cottage is at the top of a very short list.

| We enjoyed our stay at the cottage very much, it was precisely as described in the very detailed information package. The cottage is very well kept and the grounds are beautiful, its easy to see that the hosts put a lot of time and effort into maintaining it. Combined with all of the activities in the county it all makes for a great vacation. We wouldn't hesitate in renting the cottage again, we look forward to it!

| It was a honor to stay in your piece of paradise! The family enjoyed all that your place offers. The swimming in the lake, kayaking, jumping off the deck, relaxing outside in the hammock, cooling off in the cottage with Alexa, campfires at night and comfortable cozy rooms to recharge. We also enjoyed our day trips to discover waupoos, sandbanks and the bluffs.
We all agreed that this was our best family vacation! Many thanks. Truly thankful for your beautifully maintained private property, and high quality comfortable cottage environment. The stars are so beautiful in your location too!

| We loved our stay at this beautiful log cottage. It was so cozy, warm, clean, and inviting. The beds were very comfortable and I loved the breeze and the sound of the waves from the open windows. Very well equipped kitchen including all linens, bedding, extra throw blankets, and a large assortment of games/cards etc. The view of the lake from the firepit was spectacular as was the very large grass lot to run and play, which also provided complete privacy, peace and quiet. Exceptional!! We had the option to sit and enjoy the beauty or explore many of the things to see and do in Prince Edward County. Thank you for sharing it with us!
