The Eagles Nest Cottage is approximately 1½ hours north of Toronto on the beautiful waters of Gloucester Pool, a pristine lake on the historic Trent Severn Waterway, one lock out to Georgian Bay. It is in (south) Muskoka, Ontario's Number One year round vacation destination. Whether you like to be active or just relax, the Eagles Nest has it all! Summer days can be spent: relaxing on our multiple sunny decks (upper or lower) so there is always a protected spot, paddling in our 4 kayaks/ 1 canoe/1 paddle board, fishing off the dock, swimming, water skiing (if you have a motor boat), playing Jumbo Jenga or bean bag toss and other games outside (or in), enjoying evening campfires (smores anyone?) at our fire pit, sipping on a glass of wine while watching the sunset from our boat port, biking on quiet country roads, hiking in the beautiful crown land accessible from the cottage etc. etc.
Fall days are fabulous at the Eagles Nest! Whether you are kayaking, hiking or biking the colours are stunning. Camp fires outside (or in) are perfect for cooler fall evenings.
Winter brings another range of fun activities with Mt St. Louis just 20 minutes away, snowshoeing from the cottage through local crown land (1000 + acres) on our snowshoes (6 pairs), cross country skiing, or just enjoying the beauty of a snowy winters day from inside out, while sitting by the fire.
The Eagles Nest Cottage has been designed and built for year round enjoyment. Sitting high on a rock, surrounded by wind swept pines, this cottage offers gorgeous views from inside and out! The main living areas have unique floor to ceiling, wall to wall windows. The cottage boasts of clear cedar throughout with BC fir beams in the main rooms. The dining table has seating for up to 12 people, with extensions. There are 3 (+1) bedrooms with the bed configuration as follows: Blue Room-one double, one twin; Loft Room-one queen; Master Bedroom-one queen; Lower Room-one queen. There are two, 3 piece, bathrooms, one connected to the master bedroom upstairs and one on the main floor. This is a simple but deluxe cottage. You will have a true Canadian cottage experience in style!
Generous decks surround the cottage with multiple tables, seating options, and two 'sun' umbrellas. The smaller side deck off the kitchen offers a grassy area for playing Jumbo Jenga or Bean Bag Toss etc.. Further over from this area is a lovely slab of 'Canadian Shield' and our camp fire pit (with chairs). To get to the lake you will follow a rock path (Canadian Shield) to a flight of stairs taking you to the upper boat port deck. The large boat port deck (a favourite spot!) has its own seating and two more 'sun' umbrellas. Another set of stairs will take you to the lower docks/lake/kayaks/canoe/paddle board/hammock etc.. The docks also have seating, a deep end for swimming off and a small sandy, shallow entry point/beach for swimming from. There is a swim raft just off the beach area. NOTE: Many, many years ago when the Trent Severn Waterway was created, a string of lakes and rivers were dredged and flooded to allow for passage of larger boats. This means that there is an abundance of organic matter in our lake and therefore some weeds do grow. We keep our beach/swim area cleared of weeds for enjoyable swimming.
Enjoy excursions to the lock at Port Severn or to the 'railway' lock at Big Chute, an engineering marvel! Visit the Saturday farmers market in Orillia or Midland or venture north to Honey Harbour, lovely Bala and the art shops in Port Carling. Port Severn has several restaurants, a popular one being 'The Dam Grill'. Historical Coldwater, 15 minutes away, also has a couple restaurants, cute shops, and even a museum focused on the area.
We love our cottage and hope you will as well!

| Stayed at Eagles Nest Cottage from August 22 - August 25, 2017 for my 30th birthday with my family. The cottage was absolutely stunning. All the rooms were very comfortable (really enjoyed my morning view from the loft bedroom). The privacy of the cottage was excellent. We enjoyed having bbq's on the main deck and relaxing with a glass of wine on the bottom deck. This cottage had everything we needed. Unfortunately, mother nature was not on our side during our stay, as it rained all week and was below 17 degrees everyday. Even though the weather was horrible we all really enjoyed our stay, as there were games we played inside (which were included) and we made the best of the fishing and enjoying the outdoors when it didn't rain. We took out all the toys including the kayaks and paddle boards a couple of times and explored the lake. The fire pit is huge with lots of seating for everyone. Truly enjoyed every second of this cottage and the beautiful views it offered from both inside and outside.

| Gorgeous cottage with all the amenities, comfortable beds, large bathrooms, well equipped kitchen and great outdoor spaces. Beautiful deck and lower deck on the boathouse. Nice campfire pit too. Lots of comfortable chairs for relaxing. Close drive to Coldwater which is a cute little town and if you like game meat there is a place nearby that sells venison, elk, pheasant etc... Martha was a pleasure to deal with. Very helpful and quick to respond. Have already recommended Eagles Nest to a few friends!

| A hidden gem with a million-dollar view! Two large decks with one being right outside the dining room, the other is huge and is over the boat house. Very comfortable and clean, with a well-stocked kitchen and great beds! I'll be back!

| We so enjoyed our week at Eagles Nest. The cottage is comfortable and beautifully kept and the view from the back is quite spectacular. The surrounding area provides lots of opportunities for walking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. We've also been there in the summer and the lake is so much fun to explore. This place is a real gem and I plan on going back.
