Waterfront

Located in the town of Marmora and Lake, this recently built 3 bedroom, 2 bath cottage is on the Crowe River, just down from Crowe Lake. A perfect escape with cedar accent walls, cedar timber stairs to the loft, and vaulted ceiling in the great room!

There are a number of activities indoor and out. Spend your mornings in the kayaks, paddle boat or canoe provided, or an afternoon enjoying the sandbar at the lake, a short paddle away. If fishing is your calling, there is an abundance of bass, walleye, muskie, and pike. A free public boat launch is located in town, 10 minute drive away. The cottage shoreline is shallow and sandy, with some weeds towards the end of the dock - ideal for the floaties! Enjoy stargazing in the evenings while relaxing around the fire-pit. The large lawn provides plenty of room for games. There is a covered wrap around deck, perfect for relaxing from the heat or take advantage of the loungers on the sundeck. Watch a movie on the big-screen satellite TV or have a family game night with a number of boardgames available. Unlimited wi-fi is included.

The master bedroom retreat is located in the loft and features a king bed and ensuite with walk-in shower. The main floor has 2 additional bedrooms, with queen beds in both. The great room also includes a pullout queen sofa. The cottage is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, a washer/dryer and includes bedding and bath towels. There is a furnace and central air with a wood burning stove for chilly nights. We also provide hardwood for the wood-stove and a bin of softwood for the fire-pit and a propane BBQ.

We rented this cottage for a weekend and were not disappointed. What separated this cottage from ones we've rented in the past is that this cottage really did have just about everything you would ever need. The cupboards were VERY well stocked. There were lots of games/activities both indoor and outdoor including board games, lawn darts, ladder toss, cornhole, kayaks, canoe, paddle boats. The deck was also beautiful with a large table and a few lounge chairs to sit back and enjoy the view. The master bedroom was also fantastic. After being spoiled I'm not sure if I'll be able to go to a cottage that doesn't have an en suite bathroom ever again.

Definitely recommend this cottage, we had a great time.

Hi Chris
Thanks for taking the time to provide a review - and so happy you and your group had a great weekend! Too bad the weather wasn't more co-operative.

You left the cottage in great shape - doesn't appear the en-suite was even used :)

Cheers!

We rented this Crowe cottage as it was a half way point between Ottawa & Oakville so we could spend some quality time with family. The cottage was beautiful, both inside and out and the deck provides a picturesque view of the river. The cottage itself contains all the appliances, dishes and other items that you might possible need as well as a very nice BBQ to prepare some great family meals. It also provides for the use of a canoe, a paddle boat and a couple of kayaks that were very well used to paddle up the river one way and out to the lake the other. You likely won't get this but the neighbours across the river provided a spectacular fireworks display on our first night as we sat around the fire pit and watched the stars. It was a really great opportunity for the family to spend time in a relaxed atmosphere. I would highly recommend it.

We're so happy you enjoyed your time with family and how wonderful to have surprise fireworks!! Thank you for the kind words and thank you as well for leaving the cottage spotless. We would gladly host you and your family again.

What an amazing summer vacation my family had here. The cottage itself was pristine upon arrival. Name an amenity, and this cottage had it. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to cook throughout the week. Our kids were spoiled with games and activities inside the cottage and were always kept busy with countless water toys by the lake. Our family loved visiting a massive sandbar minutes away from the cottage. I can not say enough about the owners of this property. They were both available throughout the week to aid in any questions we had. They genuinely cared about our vacation and were so considerate in every aspect of our experience. I will recommend this cottage to my family and friends and hope to return next summer.

Thank you so much Nikki for your lovely review. We realize how precious time spent with family is and aim to support that in whatever small way we can. Glad you experienced the sandbar :). We were impressed on how pristine you left the cottage - especially with 3 little ones! Hope to see you back and enjoy the rest of your summer!

We really loved our stay here this summer. Location was perfect, right between Ottawa and Toronto, and directly on the water. The cottage was nice and clean when we arrived, and a great size for the 4 of us. We also made very good use of the 2 kayaks!

For future renters, a quick note: Cottages on this lake are very close together, so we could hear the neighbours chatting, as well as the trucks/construction being done on a cottage nearby. However, for a 1-week getaway, this didn't disrupt our stay.

One piece of feedback: since the cottage is used by the owners on a regular basis, naturally the fridge, drawers and cupboards are fairly full. We thought it would be great if space was made in the bathrooms, kitchen cupboards, and fridge specifically to be used by renters. Just a couple shelves would make a big difference for groceries and such.

Thanks for everything!

Hi Jamie,
Thanks so much for taking the time to provide a review.

Sorry to hear about the construction noise. We noticed the road has been upgraded which is a positive but the noise would not be pleasant, especially during a week away!

We want to provide a different experience for guests. From condiments to sunscreen, all paper products and the cold drinks are for guests to use . We'll thin out the snack cabinet so that there is space there as well (yum).. Thanks for the feedback Jamie!

Congratulations again on your engagement!

Cheers

I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed staying at this cottage! We have been renting cottages for the past few years and this one rises above them all. First of all, Jacinta and Ralph were amenable to a Saturday to Saturday vacation and although our dog was bigger than they desired, upon discussion, Riley was allowed to come (and he did enjoy it!). We had our daughter and son-in-law with us along with our grandchildren who are 5 and almost 3. The things to do were many: they swam every day in the sandy-bottomed water, played with the sand toys, played games, read books. The adults could use the paddle boat, canoe, kayaks as well as the outdoor games, indoor games, books galore and a large screen TV. The bedroom upstairs with ensuite was amazing. The two bedrooms downstairs had a full bathroom in between, perfect for my daughter et al. The kitchen had everything you could ever imagine! The appliances were top line, including the BBQ. Our son-in-law is quite the cook and he was very impressed. On our arrival, we met Jacinta and Ralph (lovely people) and they told us that anything that was in the cupboards or fridge was available to us. I confess we took them up on this offer as (of course) we forgot a few items. The cottage was air-conditioned which proved beneficial as the weather was sunny and hot (30 degrees) each day. Jacinta and Ralph also provided us with the Canada Day festivities calendar both in Marmara and on Crowe Lake. Delightful visit!
