Sand Castle Cottage is a stunning 6,000-square foot, luxury cottage on Sand Lake near the quaint town of Kearney, Ontario.The ideal vacation with 100ft of sandy beach, it is ideal for families with young children. This cottage boasts seven bedrooms, three master bedrooms with ensuites and two more bathrooms, for a total of five bathrooms.
The deck at the entrance of the cottage is almost 600 square feet with a dining table and comfortable lounge chairs. The cottage entrance features a large, warm and welcoming foyer with slate tiling.
The living room is open and flooded with natural light thanks to the cathedral ceilings and wall of windows. The hardwood floors, central air conditioning and wood-burning, double-sided fireplace in the living room will make this a favourite spot for the family to gather. The cottage is equipped with high-speed wireless internet access and satellite TV.
From the living room, the walkout to the deck, provides views of the lake, through the evergreen trees. The deck has seating for the family and a propane BBQ.
The newly renovated, gourmet kitchen comes complete with stainless steel appliances including a fridge, range, dishwasher, microwave, custom-made counters, large island, and huge open dining area. The custom-made wood dining table can accommodate the 12 people when the inserts are in. There are also stools around the kitchen island.
Also, on the main level there are three bedrooms including one of the three master bedrooms. This bedroom has a king-sized bed and a three-piece ensuite bathroom. The other bedrooms on this level have their own section of the cottage that has a door that can be closed for privacy. One of these bedrooms has a queen-sized bed and the other has a bunkbed. Between these two bedrooms is a four-piece bathroom.
The upper level offers four large bedrooms, two of which have ensuites. One master bedroom has a king bed with a four-piece ensuite bathroom and a private, screened in sitting area over looking the lake. This sitting room has a small kitchenette with sink, coffeemaker and bar fridge. The other master bedroom has a king with a three-piece ensuite. The final two bedrooms on this level each have a queen bed. There is a four-piece bathroom located between these two bedrooms.
The landscaped stone pathway leading to the waterfront and the large sandy beach with fire pit area completes the perfect beach experience for a day of pure enjoyment. The water is very shallow making it easy to wade out for almost 200 feet. There is no dock at the cottage. Anchoring out where it is deep enough and wade in to the shore is the option for those with motor boats. The cottage is complete with paddle boat, canoe and rowboat for hours of lake exploration and adventures.
There are several outfitters in the area to rent a canoe, kayak or ATV (lots of great trails in the area). The closest boat launch is at Sandhurst Resort. Renting a motor boat is available at the marina in Katrine, just a short 20 minute drive away. There is so much to do in this area and the cottage is located minutes from three Algonquin Park access points (Tim Lake, Magnetawan Lake, and Rain Lake). Fishing, hiking and swimming are just a few of the fun activities to be had at the cottage.
Sand Castle Cottage is the cottage where family memories are made. This will become an annual vacation that every family member will look forward to.
