We always love a cottage that has something to do no matter what time of year you are there - something that incorporates the essential waterfront for all sorts of summer fun and a fireplace for cozy winter gatherings. Combine that with entertainment features and you really can't miss. Located on the popular lake from which it derives its name, Chandos Beach Lakehouse is all that and more!
Step inside and you are immediately surrounded by a cottage motif - the wood accents and lake views put you in vacation mode immediately. You can explore a little upstairs, figure out who gets which bed (we think if you are the person responsible for the booking, you should lay claim to the bedroom that also enjoys the lake view). The kitchen and 4-piece bathroom are on this level as well. The large living area with the dining area adjacent would be sufficient in most cottages...but we haven't gone downstairs yet.
The lower level is where the relaxation turns to fun and friendly competition. Pool and ping pong tables will keep the group busy all week, determining the overall champion of each. Care to relive some of those youthful arcade days? Vintage pinball machines light up the back wall. (Note - those of you who spent any time playing pinball will recall that with all the moving parts, a lot of maintenance can be required. While the owners will endeavor to have everything working for your stay, we cannot offer refunds if one of the machines is down for repair). If gaming isn't your thing (or if the 9-year old is just too good), you may just want to enjoy a movie while others play. Tucked away in a lower bathroom are laundry machines in case you need them.
There's something we need to tell you at this point - humans aren't the only ones who love it here. The resident chipmunk family are quite tame and enjoy sharing a peanut or two. In fact, the screen door at the front has a spot where the owner welcomes them to come and go from the cottage. We realize that not everyone wants to share the cottage with these iconic cottage country pals, so if you'd rather not share the space, simply close the main door and they will only say hello when you are outside.
Ready to step outside? First up is the hot tub - four seasons of relaxing immersion to warm away that city stress. How can we entice you at the waterfront? Sandy beach? Weed-free water? Generous selection of watercraft? Wonderful lake vistas? Take your pick. A fire pit rounds out things here.
I don't think anything has been missed. If all else fails, there is unlimited WiFi to keep up with the office or Snap Chat to your colleagues what a wonderful time you're having while they're at work....not that you'd do that...would you?
Out and about, a couple of local towns, Apsley and Glen Alda, have what you need for groceries, LCBO, pizza, gas and a bakery. Driving anywhere in the area is scenic, but this might just be one cottage you just don't want to leave, even for a day!

A post-rental cleaning service is provided but the cottage is to be left in a tidy condition

Waterfront
Enjoy the 200ft of waterfront that offers clear water, a sandy beach area with shallow entry, and a long dock. Water is deeper off the end of the dock.

Chandos (Lake and former Township of) was named in 1862 for Richard Temple-Nugent-Brydges-Chandos-Grenville, 3rd Duke of Buckingham and Chandos.
