This lovely three bedroom cottage is ideally situated on beautiful Peninsula Lake. The spacious wrap- around veranda is reminiscent of old Muskoka. The veranda has sliding screens and can be turned into a Muskoka room in a matter of minutes to keep out those bothersome bugs at dusk. It is elevated from the lake with a landscaped granite pathway to the waterfront. The dock and generous fire pit area offer numerous locations to relax and enjoy this magnificent setting!
Settle into cottage life with all the comforts of home. The entrance leads to a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, fridge, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher and all the cooking utensils needed for that special family gathering. The kitchen island has seating for four with a corner table next to the propane stove that can seat another four people. A sizable BBQ is located just outside the kitchen.
There is hardwood flooring throughout this 1,100 square foot classic. The living room features a wood burning stone fireplace. Lounge around on the comfortable furniture or dine inside or outside on the veranda taking in the peaceful long views of the lake. There is a large flat screen TV for some late night movie watching. A cozy and updated four-piece bathroom is conveniently located steps away from living room and bedrooms.
The master bedroom has a queen bed facing out to the lake with sliding doors to the veranda. There is also a flat screen TV. The second bedroom has a double bed with splendid views of the lake. The third bedroom has two bunk beds perfect for the younger family members to sleep the night away after a fun filled day. A short distance away is a cute Bunkie with a double and single bunk bed.
The shoreline is dotted with wildflowers, pines and beautiful Ontario granite. Shallow water extends out to the end of the 23 foot single slip boathouse dock to a depth of five feet. A large flagstone fire pit landing is just feet away from the shore. There is ample space to dock a boat, or one can be rented from a nearby marina.
Peninsula Lake is part of a 40-mile chain of lakes, canals and rivers that include access to the town of Huntsville. By canal (small river) you can boat to Fairy lake and through the river to Huntsville and on to Lake Vernon. Springside cottage is within a five minute drive to Deerhurst Resort for golf, dining and other activities, and ten minutes to the town of Huntsville which offers fine dining, quaint shops, grocery stores, hospital, the Pioneer Village and live theatre.
World famous Algonquin Provincial Park is less than a thirty minute drive and Arrowhead Provincial Park is fifteen minutes away. A stay at Springside will be one filled with activity for those who choose it, or a time for relaxing and unwinding. Come and enjoy!
