For daily rentals, Saturday check-in is not available << Welcome to your next retreat situated on Big Rideau Lake with 6 acres of nature and privacy. This beautiful winterized and quiet cottage is the perfect place to spend your valuable time with loved ones. Come enjoy our scenic home and its 90+ amenities, tons of indoor and outdoor games, hiking in our wooded lot, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, lounging in the hot tub, or simply exploring the 4 historic towns of Westport, Portland, Newboro, or Elgin, all situated within 15 minutes! The cottage has 4 bedrooms and 2 full washrooms along with 3 lounging areas which are a family room, kids play area, and stocked games room. Our family room has a 60-inch TV, DVDs, a guitar, and 20+ games such as Catan, Risk, Ludo, Taboo, Scrabble, Battleship, Code Names, Monopoly Deal, Family Charades, and many more. There is a also wood-burning fireplace for those romantic winter nights. Upstairs, we also have a kids' play area with an office station, puzzles, books, and a toy station. Our games area in the newly renovated basement (from March 2022) with a convertible ping pong/ pool/air hockey table, darts, foosball table, 55-inch TV with Netflix, N64 with some famous titles, Streetfighter arcade machine, indoor 2-player electronic basketball, and weighted tournament poker chips.
The smaller kitchen is well equipped with additional items such as Blender, Rice cooker, French press, indoor grill and stocked with paper towels, dish liquid, hand soap, dishwasher tablets, oils, children dinnerware, utensils, spices, and more!
On our walkaround deck, we have a 6 person hot tub, BBQ grill, charcoal grill, and plenty of lounging areas. Guests are welcome to use 2 kayaks, another fishing kayak, a 2-person canoe to explore the bay and wildlife.
The lawn is large enough for included games such as Spikeball, Corn hole, Crossnet, or 15 ft Trampoline. We also have a second screened, and lighted Gazebo with wicker chairs and cushions to escape bugs and chat all night long! There is an outdoor picnic table to catch the evening breeze over a game of cards.
Nature lovers can go on a hike on our wooded lot on the right which has the rest of our 1000 ft hidden waterfront, sit around the campfire on the gently sloping backyard and check out fireflies or simply enjoy the view from Muskoka chairs on our brand-new dock!
If you are lucky, you may spot our resident Swans, Deer during the early morning, Ducks, Loons, Cranes, Otters, Muskrats, Beavers, or Turtles hatching right at the property seasonally.
The water is not swimmable due to seasonal Water Lilles but you can enjoy boating activities or visit a lovely public sandy beach in just 15 minutes!
This place looks surreal in the fall season and Rideau Lake offers tons of winter activities! The cottage is centrally airconditioned and heated by propane. We also have a brand new water softener, UV filter, and Reverse Osmosis system installed (2021)
