Taking last minute bookings.Are you looking for peace, tranquility and a place to create more amazing memories? Look no further. Beaver Tale is the perfect escape to have some fun, enjoy some privacy and create cottage memories that you will hold close to your heart.
There are multiple outdoor areas to relax and create memories during your stay here. Enjoy your morning coffee on the front deck where the sun will rise and warm your face. Or you can take your coffee down to the dock with your fishing rod and enjoy the morning mist coming off of the water while you cast your worries away. There is also a screened in porch that you can hide away from the mosquitos at dusk and watch the river for otters, ducks, beavers, or even deer strolling through. Take your night time down to the fire pit and enjoy s'mores and roasted hotdogs while listening to the crackle of the fire and watching the stars.
Cottage is nestled on 13 acres on Beaver Creek in Gilmour ON. and is surrounded by crown land. Located between Madoc and Bancroft Ontario, easy to get to in only 25 minutes to either town. About 2.5 hours fromOttawa and 2-3 hours North East of GTA.
Take one of the Kayaks or the paddle boat for a peaceful paddle down the river while taking in the beautiful scenery and wildlife. Add to your memory bank with your children watching them have some fun on the river. Be sure to keep your eyes open for the turtles sunbathing on the branches and the herons perched fishing for their meals.
Beaver Tale is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage and sleeps 6-8 inside. Master bedroom has a king pillow top bed, night tables and dresser. Second bedroom has a double bed and dresser. Living room has a pull out double sofa bed. There is also a queen size air mattress.
There is also 2 air conditioners. 1 for each bedroom or living room and bedroom.
Beaver Tale has a fully loaded kitchen including dishes, cutlery, fridge, stove,dishwasher, microwave, Keurig coffee maker (with some pods), toaster, kettle, pots and pans, salt, pepper and a few spices.
Living room has pull out double sofa and 2 recliners and 55" t.v.
2 bathrooms.
1 bathroom with tub and shower. 1 has toilet and sink.
Washer and dryer for your convenience.
Back up manual generator if there is a power outage. It will run everything but the stove, washer/dryer and hot water.
Cottage has 2 decks. Front deck has seating for 4 and propane barbeque. The screened in porch has seating for 5. Relax and take in the river views.
Close to ATV trails,conservation areas and walking trails.
Many lakes nearby for boating and swimming.
Jordan Lake is 4 minutes;
Steenburg Lake is 5 minutes with a beautiful walk out beach;
Gunter Lake is 15 minutes;
Limerick Lake and Weslemkoon Lake.
There are 2 stores and a restaurant minutes away. Trudys has groceries, gas, worms and a LCBO. Rock Cut Variety has great meats,groceries and propane. Rustic Roadside Restaurant has great food. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Cottage has 4 adult kayaks and 2 childrens kayaks and a paddle boat for your enjoyment. There are 4 adult life jackets and a few childrens. It is recommended you bring your personal life jackets for safety and proper fit. Outdoor games include horseshoes, bocce ball, badminton, corn hole and croquet.
There are board games, cards, books, coloring books, dvds and other games for rainy days. Beaver Tale has high speed internet, Netflix, Bell Satellite and full cellular service.
Pets are welcome as they are part of your family too, but we ask that you please bring a pet bed and keep them off of the furniture to be respectful to other guests. Security deposits increase with pets.
The water is from a well. It has filters and a U.V light and is tested regularly. It is potable but you might want to bring your own bottled water.
Cottage is on a septic system so please do not flush anything but toilet paper. Please use septic safe toilet paper or 1 ply.
Smoking/vaping is permitted outside only. No smoking in the cottage or in the screened in porch. Please use ashtrays as well as butt can on the front deck. Take all butts with you when you leave.
Sheets, pillow cases, dish soap, hand soap, dishwasher tabs, laundry soap, dryer sheets, dish cloths, dish towels, paper towels are provided. Also, kindling and firewood.
Please leave the cottage relatively clean when you leave. Put all dishes back to the original spot including emptying the dishwasher. Also, put all chairs inside and out back and put kayaks back on the rack. All garbage and recycling must be taken with you either home or to the dump. We will provide garbage bags and dump tags if needed.
A housekeeper is included in the rental cost. She will strip beds, clean and sanitize everything. If you have used the sofa bed, please strip off linens and put the bed back to couch position.
Rates are $350 a night,$700 weekend ( Friday and Saturday night)
$2,450 weekly
Check in is 4 p.m. and check out is 11 a.m.
Booking deposit is 20% due at time of booking. (remainder is due 60 days before arrival). Security deposit of $500 ( to be refunded within 7 days of checkout). Increases to $600 with pets.
