**Maximum occupancy limit of 6 (4 adults +2 additional children)** The Burnt River meanders from Canning Lake, part of the Haliburton Lake chain that includes Kashagawigamog, through the largely rural sections of the Kawartha Lakes and widens gradually before emptying into Cameron Lake not far from Fenelon Falls. The river does not pass through any major towns, but does play host to hundreds of cottages along its banks. One of the towns it does pass through is Kinmount, and just south of that, you will find High Falls Echo. The lower half of a lovely riverfront property (the owners, a quiet couple, occupy the upper level), High Falls Echo offers elegant, spacious accommodations, a walkout to a wonderful patio and river view. When you arrive, the first thing you will notice is the song of the river as it tumbles over the rocks. The river will delight you during your stay. The mere visual appeal of the falls will enthrall you, and a swimming hole below is the perfect place to cool off. Explorers will want to head up or down stream in the canoe or kayak. Experienced kayakers (who bring their own kayaks suitable to the task) may wish to shoot the rapids. There is waterfront seating for a front row seat, and a patio between the cottage and the water, set amongst the trees. The water is pure and clear here - in fact, the well water is so good that it is the very source for the Burnt River Microbrewery! Stepping inside, we see a large, bright living/ kitchen/dining area. Whether it's movie night, games night, conversation, or an intimate meal beside the blazing stove, your group will find this space to be great for relaxing and reconnecting. Don't worry if you enjoy a little vacation junk food - this cottage comes complete with a weight room with an elliptical to burn any calories left over from a day on the river. Down the hall is the 4-piece bathroom as well as the two bedrooms. The first is the main bedroom, with a comfy queen bed, where the sound of the rushing water can lull you to sleep. At the end of the hall is a room that sleeps the remainder of your group. This is the perfect place for the kids. Two single-over-double bunks offer a variety of sleeping combinations for siblings or cousins. A variety of games and puzzles, along with a table at which to play them, just might see the occupants of this room disappearing into relaxing tabletop pursuits for a couple of hours.
While the cottage fits the criteria for "getting away from it all", keeping up with the world is easy. Satellite TV keeps you in touch with the news, the big game, and your favorite shows, while unlimited WiFi Internet lets you keep in touch with the people in the office (not to work of course - just to brag about what a wonderful place it is!).
Feel like exploring? The town of Kinmount, less than 10 minutes away, has what you need for supplies and offers a few eateries for when you want to keep the relaxing going. Picturesque Fenelon Falls is a half hour drive as is storied Bobcaygeon. Are you a cyclist? By all means bring your wheels! The Victoria Rail Trail is less than 4 km from the cottage and a round trip of less than 60 km makes for a perfect day of riding punctuated with lunch in Fenelon Falls. By now you've guessed that High Falls Echo is perfect for the active, adventurous group - but if your sport is just chilling, you'll find the cottage equally appealing.

Waterfront A slope takes you to the water's edge. While it is not perilously steep, it would not be an easy descent for those with modbility challenges. There are falls directly at the waterfront, with a path to a swimming whole just a few yards downstream where the water is clean and clear. There is a current at the falls of course. The water deepens quickly from the shore so swimming is not well-suited to toddlers/non-swimmers.
