For the love of Boating!
This is the perfect excuse to use the boat, as this cottage is water access only. Named Forlorne, as a play on words for the original owner Lorne, this 1960's era, A-frame provides a wonderful opportunity to create summer memories.
Multiple decks line the path from the dock to the cottage with gathering places along the way, Explore nature and breathe-in the forest air as you follow 'The Back Path', a walking trail, located directly behind the cottage. Spend a day on the dock where you can enjoy the sun or swim, kayak, paddleboard and putter around in the paddle boat.
Adventure by boat to Gravenhurst, Bracebridge or Port Carling where the locks can take you from Lake Muskoka to Lake Rosseau and Lake Joseph. On days that you want to be closer to the cottage, a 5-minute boat ride will take you to Bala where you will find attractions like the Falls, the Kee, the Museum, the Water Ski Show (Tuesday's at 7:30pm) as well as several restaurants, a bakery, an ice cream store, grocery store, bank and more. You can get everything you need by boat!
At the end of the day, stargaze on the dock then retreat to the cottage for board games, cards or story-telling. The children will love climbing the interesting ladder to the small loft with twin beds. This place is a lovely mixture of updates and reminders of a sentimental era gone by.
