Just 15 minutes from the vibrant town of Bobcaygeon, this newly renovated Kawartha Lakes cottage rental makes an ideal base for exploring the area. While swimming isn't an option from this waterfront, there are public beaches within a short driving distance, and if you bring your own boat, the property has its own boat launch.
The cottage is a traditional single storey that has been brought up to a modern standard with new furniture and appliances, yet still maintains a cottage charm and ambience.
The open plan kitchen and living room area are spacious and comfortable and lead into a delightful, sunny dining room overlooking the deck, with great lake views. A door from the dining area leads onto a deck with patio table, chairs and an umbrella for shade.
Two bedrooms and a bathroom are off to one side, with the main bedroom having a view of the lake. Brand new mattresses offer a good night's sleep after a busy day exploring.
This cottage is all about the convenient location from the city and proximity one of the prettiest towns in cottage country. Take a day to explore the locks and lakefront area with lunch at one of the many waterside restaurants. Another can be spent shopping and enjoying the farmer's market and the iconic Bigley's Shoes and Clothing Store (operated by the same family since 1911). Don't miss the Kawartha Settlers Village with a collection of over 30 historic homes from the area, complete with activities and a host of summer events. And, of course, a stop by the home of Kawartha Dairy is a must for arguably the best ice cream in the province.
And for swimming and taking a picnic, Bobcaygeon Beach Park is the place to go.

Trivia
Pigeon Lake forms part of the Trent-Severn waterway and is 27 km long and up to 3 km wide. The most common game fish in the lake are smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, walleye, yellow perch, carp, muskellunge as well as a number of species of panfish. Commercial and recreational fishing has resulted in the introduction of zebra mussels, which change the ecosystem by filtering the water and making it clearer. Some fish, such as Walleye, dislike the clear water and have become less abundant.
