Welcome to the farm! This log home is conveniently located just north of Bancroft nestled amongst the hills and picturesque fields of Hastings Highlands.
Roll into this multigenerational working family farm with scenic views and peaceful surroundings. Choose to learn about this working farm from the farmer who also lives on the property or choose to enjoy the peace and quiet exploring 700 acres with walking trails throughout.
Dreaming of a trip to Yellowstone in Montana but cannot make the trip? Why not visit the Ontario version? Wake up to the morning dew rising off the fields as cattle graze mere feet from your veranda. Wind down at the end of the day watching firefly's dance and listening to the lull of frogs singing their evening chorus.
This home features four second storey bedrooms and one full bathroom. With room for up to 8 guests. The open concept kitchen, dining and living room are the perfect place to gather with family and friends. The large kitchen has plenty of space to prepare a feast for your loved ones or enjoy takeout in the dining room from one of the delectable restaurants in nearby Bancroft, Bird's Creek or Maynooth.
Spend your days exploring the great outdoors - the property has plenty of trails to hike or bring your mountain bike and explore. This property is a photographer and birders dream. With several different ecosystems at play there is the opportunity to view wildlife galore.
If you are looking for a slower pace - enjoy your favourite book, sipping on your coffee or iced tea from the balcony or veranda. Wind down at the end of the day gathered around a camp fire with s'mores right in your side yard. If the weather isn't cooperating or you need to checkin with the office this rustic home is connected to the 21st century with high speed internet and a smart tv to enjoy your favourite Disney movies or tv shows.
If you would like to get out for the day there are so many unique shops within a 10-20 minute drive. Explore the eclectic shops of Maynooth, or several small family owned shops in downtown Bancroft.
The farm is also close to several beautiful Provincial Parks. Algonquin, Lake St. Peter, Silent Lake and Egan Chutes to name a few. Take a day trip, pack a picnic and explore all that they have to offer. The Eagles Nest in Bancroft also offers an accessible lookout with beautiful views of the town and several marked hiking trails.
The farm is still a working farm so you may see a tractor, four wheeler or pickup truck passing by to perform daily chores. The multigenerational family farm works together during haying season and if you're lucky enough to visit in early July you are welcome to join in and learn about the yearly harvest. We are a friendly crew but will respect your privacy too if you would rather observe from afar. There is a live in farmer that lives in a separate dwelling a couple kilometres from the main house. The farm dog Timber and cat Squirt roam the property and will bid you good-day during your daily outings too. Keep your eyes peeled and you may spot some free range chickens also. All of the animals are friendly and a part of the experience here at the farm.
