If you like the idea of a traditional cottage on a tranquil lake that has only 2 other cottages, you've found the right spot.
Wagon Wheel is on Robbinson Lake, a mostly no-motor lake by local agreement, in a stunning location if you want tranquility, lots of nature, peaceful canoeing and privacy. Situated on a point, the water is the focus and there is a dock, a delightful waterside gazebo, and a firepit for nights spent out-of-doors roasting s''mores and sharing stories. Take one of the watercraft out for a few hours of fishing, sit on a dock and soak up the sun, or swim in the clear sparkling water.
The interior is perfect for socialising, with the kitchen and dining area on one level, with a couple of steps down to a comfortable living room. Two of the bedrooms and the bathroom are off the first level with the third to the rear of the living area. A screened-in sun-room is a great spot to take an aperitif and play some card games while the wrap-around deck has a BBQ, patio table and chairs and stunning views of the water.
Outside, there is a neat Bunkie with a queen bed, and even an old-fashioned outhouse for those die-hard traditionalists!
Although this cottage will suit purists who hate the idea of dry-wall palaces taking over in cottage country, it hasn't escaped technology, so you'll find wifi and good cell coverage. That should keep the kids happy while you sit back, relax and soak up the peace.
Just 20 minutes south is the town of Madoc where you'll find supermarkets, a wonderful bakery, LCBO/Beer Store etc.

TriviaThe local town of Madoc was originally named MacKenzie's Mills after Donald MacKenzie, who built a sawmill and grist mill here. It was briefly named Hastings but renamed Madoc after the legendary Welsh prince Madoc ap Owain Gwynedd, credited by some with discovering North America in 1170. When people traveled by horse and carriage during the 19th century from Toronto to Ottawa, Madoc was the halfway stop over, allowing the passengers and horses to rest. Today the Greyhound buses travelling the route from Toronto to Ottawa still stop here to change over drivers. (Main Source ? Wikipedia)
