Our Last Resort (OLR) is a beautifully updated year round cottage, that comfortably sleeps 10 (12 with prior arrangements). Situated on 1.4 acres of land with 320 ft of South & Southwest facing shoreline on a secluded bay that is ideal for large families or two families escaping together - only 2hr 15min from Toronto!
Easy winter access makes the cottage a great base for Skiing (Sir Sam's or Hidden Valley), Frost Center (dog-sledding, horse shoeing) or snowmobiling (OSFC District 6), ice sake on the lake or set off cross-country skiing.
Summer time - the sloped rock face or dock makes it easy for kids of any age to play in the water of our secluded bay with nearly no boat traffic. Launch your boat from one of the public boat launches and enjoy water sports or great fishing on 12km of of beautiful boating on Kushog. Cottage comes with a host of water toys (Canoes, SUP, Lilly Pad, inflatables, etc) as well as games shack (ping pong and darts), Trampoline, Ninja line in the woods, board games, puzzles, fire pits, movies etc.Need to work remotely, or stream that all important game or new episode - the cottage has high speed internet and wifi.
Love to grill - the side grill deck has a Propane grill, Charcoal Kettle, and Pellet grill.
Kids love the main floor bunk room with a Twin over Twin bunk and trundle below, as well as a Twin over Double bed. Parents will love the main floor or basement king bedrooms, and the basement Twin bed room with trundle is a great for the additional company looking for their own space.
Spring or fall - get out to see the amazing fall colours from the Dorset lookout tower, or hike the Algonquin Highlands amazing trails, enjoy re-charing next with a fire at the fire pit overlooking the lake.
Kitchen if fully equipped with Oven/Range (with built in air fry), Convection Microwave oven, Toaster(s), Kettle, Drip coffee pot, Instapot, and basically all the pots pans, and kitchen gadgets you'll need.
Inside, the dining table easily sits 8 (10+ if cozy) plus the kitchen island with seating for 4 more ensures that no-one left out. Outside, two patio tables will accommodate your whole party under the string lights or next to the chiminea.
Enjoying activities needing gear? Wet towels/bathing suits, gear from ATV'ing or snowsuits after snowmobiling or playing in the snow... the oversized mudroom is ideal to drop your gear!
