Mondays to Mondays in July and August and in spring and fall a minimum of 2 nights, or 3 if a long weekend.
Share your vacation or retreat with friends or family, but enjoy the privacy and comfort of an Inn with its authentic old world charm and modern updated amenities. The Inn sleeps up to 30 in 10 uniquely decorated, well-appointed bedrooms with 10 bathrooms. The bed sizes are a mixture of twin, double, queen and king and a few of them are bunks.
Most bedrooms have private ensuite bathrooms and one of the 3rd floor bedrooms has a spectacular view from the ensuite outdoor deck.
Perfect for extended family gatherings or small business retreats. It is also perfect for weddings and there have been many wonderful marriages at the Portage Inn.
The large commercial kitchen is fully outfitted with everything you need to cook up a storm and has many counter surfaces, 2 fridges and a Garland stove with 6 burners and 2 ovens, a commercial dishwasher, a triple sink and in the adjacent laundry room there is an additional fridge and a deep freezer. There is a second kitchen on the 3rd floor. Large families and caterers love it.
A laundry room is available for your use.
The 1000 square foot great room provides dining areas for up to 30 and sports a large stone central fireplace, a pool table and a bar. The 400 square foot adjacent lounge is a screening room and also suitable as a meeting room.
Outside, the 1500 square foot patio, just off the great room and with fantastic views of the lake has tables and chairs, and a propane BBQ. This is where most wedding parties have their reception under a big tent. There is a pretty English garden and open lawn areas perfect for games as well as a fire-pit.
At the lake, a 4-minute walk down the hill, there is a sandy walk-in beach and our private dock. The lake is great for swimming, fishing and boating. We provide some canoes, kayaks, a paddle boat, and a 15 foot lily pad for your use.
Amenities include: wireless internet, satellite smart TV, DVD player, and an ipod/CD player.
Lots of parking for cars and boat trailers, if you want to bring your own boat. (Please Check with us first)
Need more space? Rent the chalet next door which sleeps 10 to 12 in 5 bedrooms with 2.5 bathrooms. Please let us know if you want more info.
Depending on when you book, our payment plan is as follows: 25% upon booking, 9 months, 6 months and 3 months before arrival. The refundable damage deposit is due 1 month before arrival.
Our refund policy is as follows: If we are able to replace your booking, a refund of the nightly rate (up to the amount paid by the replacement booking), and all other amounts paid, with a $750 admin fee deducted.
If we cannot find a replacement, then only the cleaning/linen fee and the damage deposit can be refunded.
