Our rental is set in the retro style of the 1970s complete with eclectic decor: flowered couches, swivel rockers, swag lamps, shag carpet and even a lava lamp or two. Do you remember lava lamps? We are located close to the Harrop ferry landing in a secluded, forested setting with private driveway and ample parking.

Great location for mountain biking, golfing, swimming, hiking, walking, boating, fishing, Hot Spring dipping and exploring. Take the Harrop cable ferry (24 hr) across the river and slip back into a simpler time. Ride your bike to the bakery in Procter for a fresh world-famous cinnamon bun, or visit Sunshine Bay for a swim. If you must shop we are a short drive from great boutiques, galleries, and restaurants in Nelson or Kaslo. A true 70's style little gem complete with the shag carpeting and lava lamps. Centrally located "The Hideaway" is perfect for day trips around the region. Quiet, peaceful and away from the mainstream areas. You can grill on the deck, watch the deer walk through the yard and maybe even an occasional bear. It's the perfect spot to relax for a few days or longer. Everything you need for a little home away from home is there including excellent WiFi for those of us that just have to have our toys. For fishermen, a very nice public boat ramp is just 5 minutes away and there is more than enough room to park your boat and vehicle.

We have been staying with Fred and Pam for several years now and look forward to each trip. If you need anything during your stay all you have to do is ask. I defy anyone to find a more personable set of hosts than Fred and Pam Mansveld! We can't wait to go back!!!!!

We found this little gem 'hideaway' in 2001 and have been back every year since. It is perfect for us, especially as we like to travel with our dogs. Altho the cabin is a little dated it is clean and comfy and has everything we need. Pam and Fred are great hosts and most accommodating. It is in an ideal location, close to many local attractions, yet away from mainstream -- a true "hideaway". We look forward to our 6th stay this summer!
