We want to share our little bit of paradise with you. Watch ships sailing into Louisbourg harbour greeted by Canada's oldest light station. Opposite the lighthouse is the Fortress of Louisbourg, with its cannons pointed across the harbour. You can hear the boom across the harbour every day at 4:45 as the cannons go off.

Enjoy Crabfest the 1st weekend in August. The last week of August celebrate the King's birthday with a spectacular fireworks display over the harbour.
For those who love diving adventures, there are plenty. Explore wrecks of French men-of-war from the siege of 1758 lying on the harbour bottom. Louisbourg Harbour is a protected area but you may dive with a guide.
There are many walking trails, including Simon's Point, a wonderful walk through the woods that takes you to a beautiful view of the Atlantic ocean.Or grab a fishing a rod and fish for mackerel off the wharf.

Cape Breton Island is a rugged little island approximately 175 km long by 135 km at its widest point and is attached to the mainland of Nova Scotia by the Canso Causway. There is about 150,000 of us Cape Bretoners living on this island paradise. Cape Breton is one of the most beautiful places in the world.
