The 650 Sq. Ft. lakefront storybook cedar cabin is nestled in a mature forest with a year round creek flowing beside it. This extremely private, stand alone lakefront cabin is one of a kind in this area as you have the entire property and beach to yourself. Watch the sunrise over the Purcell Mountains from the cabin and the deck with the timber swing and at night enjoy a campfire on the beach as you see the moon slowly rise over the mountains to reflect on the water. The 200' of private lake frontage consists mainly of small, smooth, flat pebbles that are made to skip on the lakes' surface forever and has a gradual slope into the lake. At the beach there is a fire-pit, hammock, tenting spots, horseshoe pitch or cast a line from the shore at the mouth of the creek where the fish like to hang out. The cabin is located close to many popular fishing spots including the area just off the beach in front of the mouth of the creek and a row boat to fish from. Many of our new and returning guests choose this cabin for its privacy as it is located near the end of a no-thru road and is well away from the main roadway and does not share the property with any other residences. View testimonials from our past guests to feel confident we will provide a carefree, relaxing, clean and memorable accommodation. You will only hear the wind and water as the other properties are well hidden past the trees. The cabin sleeps 6-7 and has a queen size bed in the master bedroom and a double futon couch/ bed with an upper bunk in the front view room. There are two single beds in the loft bedroom. Noted rates are for an occupancy up to four guests with an extra charge of $20 per night for extra guests. The fully equipped kitchen has a fridge, stove, oven, microwave, bottled water cooler and a sheltered BBQ. There is a full bathroom with a shower. Everything that you will need is supplied in the cabin including all bedding, linens and towels, flat screen TV and DVD/blueray player. There is cell reception at the cabin. There is ample parking and a RV power plugin on the cabin.
Please feel free to contact Darrell and Chloe for more information on the cabin or the Kaslo area and its' activities and ask to have a copy of the Day Trip Distance and local Information package sent to you.
Pets are considered with an extra charge of $20 per pet per night.
If you are travelling to our mountainous area for a Winter adventure, it is recommended to have 4X4 or all wheel drive vehicles and Winter tires with good tread depth. !!!! CHECK OUT OUR NEWER KOOTENAY LAKEFRONT COTTAGE NEAR BALFOUR "QUEENS BAY HIDEAWAY" ON THIS WEBSITE!!!!

| This cottage is just what you need to get away and just enjoy nature yet it's close enough to Kaslo if you need anything . We have been coming back to this cabin for years and every year we love it more. If you want privacy you get it here. A short walk down to the beach for all your water sports it's so great. | We were lucky enough to have spent two weeks at the Kootenai Hideaway cabin. It was everything it was advertised to be and more, the photos don't do it justice. Great location on the lake, absolutely everything you need is here, really well equipped. The area was very private and so peaceful, very relaxing and everything we were looking for in a quiet time for reading and fishing. Darrell and Chloe were extremely responsive and a pleasure to work with. Easy check in/ out and great instructions to the cabin. Thanks and we will see you next year. Chloe thanks for mailing the jacket we left behind.

| This property was all I could have hoped for in a cozy, relaxing vacation. I gasped the first time we walked in the door because the cabin was even better than I could have imagined. The photos don't do it full justice. Well-appointed and with thoughtful amenities throughout, this place is even better than a little home away from home. The private beach with lakefront chairs added the perfect finishing touch to the end of each relaxing day. As an added bonus, the owners are marvelously kind (in person and by email) and are highly responsive to all inquiries before, during and after your stay. Very recommended and will definitely return.

| This little gem exemplifies what the Kootenays are all about. For our Mother's Day staycation our family of four spent a couple of nights at this meticulously kept cabin. Cedar plank salmon on the BBQ, red wine by campfire, long beach strolls, skipping rocks to our hearts content and soaking in all of the beauty this part of the world has to offer is how we got to truly relax in this pristine location. Overlooking the lake with the snow capped mountains we were able to inventory all of the hikes we have done and those peaks yet to be conquered. The loons on the lake called to one another, clearly for our amusement and to round out this experience. A couple of hours in the scenic village of Kaslo a few kilometres away reaffirmed that we truly are blessed to live in the Kootenaysand the have staycation experience in such lovely location so close to our home in Nelson. Thank you Chloe and Darrell for the opportunity to enjoy this get away. You represent the Kootenay hospitality with a solid FIVE STAR experience.

| I would give this cottage a 100 star review if possible! The area was so private and peaceful - We never saw a person, barely saw a boat on the lake! This is what I valued most. We enjoyed the lakefront (that firepit tho!), the swing (stellar touch!), we used our canoe on the lake, watched the fish jump, wandered nearby Kaslo and day tripped to Nelson. We used our mountain bikes on several trails, including the Kaslo River Trail. Our stay was very comfortable and our time there was amazing. I would have a hard time staying anywhere else!
