| Just back from an amazing week at Nichemark North. This place is beyond description! Tim met us upon arrival and explained the off the grid system and all we needed to know. The birds out back to feed are so calming to watch as you eat your breakfast at the dining table. The stone fireplace in the cottage is like no other, we had several very cold nights but never once cold in the cottage with the fireplace and propane stove going. The private lake is definitely something we had never experienced. We actually got brave and took a dip in the cold lake, and then warmed up in the incredible cedar hot tub! Not a soul in sight unless you leave the cottage and head to town for supplies. We heard only birds, chipmunks, moose in the distance and the occasional fly over by a small plane heading to the airport. The most tranquil, peaceful and relaxing place I have ever spent time. You need to relax and unwind? ...........this is THE PLACE TO BE! The kitchen is extremely well stocked for a cottage rental, and lots of paper products and cleaning supplies were available. The massive deck and dock areas made for countless hours of relaxing and taking it all in. The cottage is extremely cozy at night with the fire as you relax and watch a Nascar race or a Jays game.I could seriously go on forever about this cottage and what a time we had! Don't miss this piece of True Bliss!
Tim....thanks for sharing your chunk of paradise with us! We will definitely book this rental again

| My family spent a week at this property and we had a wonderful time. The real value here is the property's isolated location. There is not a single other property in sight. The water was beautiful and the dock is large and perfect for relaxing. My daughter especially enjoyed the hammock and would have gladly slept in it at night if not for mosquitoes. The real treat for me was being able to let the dog roam free, knowing that there was no one for her to disturb and no roads nearby to endanger her. My only reason for holding back from a 5 star review is that the cottage does need some repairs/maintenance including a room that isn't finished and the hot tub which leaked and was not really feasible to keep filling. As luck would have it, the weather was so hot that we didn't really miss the hot tub. Tim was very thorough in explaining how everything worked and we appreciated the extra care he took in making sure we were comfortable. I would rent it again in a heartbeat and would just hope that the building gets the TLC that would make it a 5 star cottage experience.

Réponse proprio: Sarah, It was a pleasure having you and your family visit Good Lake this summer. Your review was very fair and one of the two deficiencies (the hot tub) has now been fully repaired. The TLC you mentioned is scheduled to be completed in their entirety for 2021 including extensive trail building to better explore the 471 acres. You and your family and of course your dog are welcome back anytime. | |

| This is how a trip to the cottage used to be. It was a chance to explore an open wilderness; a chance to escape to a place where the loudest noise is the wind in the trees or the loon on the lake at sunset. It's a chance to walk in the woods with the chance of seeing all sorts of wildlife in their natural habitat. It's a chance to expose yourself (and your kids) to the possibilities of wind and solar power (watching the charge gauge grow on a sunny day is a compelling experience that turns into a family challenge on turning things off that you're not using). It's heaven if you have dogs. The lake is perfect for swimming and chasing sticks, and the main road very quiet(we saw 6 cars in 9 days) for long walks. Exploring the lake and the swamp is also a great way to see undisturbed nature, and the birds and animals that go with it. It's not a 5 star resort; it's a cottage vacation without all the bells and whistles; instead it's calm, serene, and peaceful. It's the great escape.

| What a fantastic place! My partner, 19 yo son and I enjoyed such a relaxing week this past August. Being on your own private lake, with no other cottages, people or boats was an experience few have the opportunity to enjoy. Bonus - our dog was able to run free (and that in itself was a big plus for us).
Outside we enjoyed the large dock, warm, deep water swimming and kayaks. The hammock is a great add. Lovely lake to kayak on and explore the beaver activity. Great deck for meals and a nice BBQ. Loons nightly!
Inside, well-appointed kitchen, lovely furnishings, HUGE fireplace, lots of games and DVD's. Loved being off the grid - and Tim did a great job of explaining everything.
Note that the water's edge drops quite suddenly - which might be a concern if you have little ones.
So fortunate to have experienced this Muskoka oasis - we hope to return again another year.

| Our family enjoyed our stay it was a very peaceful and we were able to relax. The cottage had everything you could think of. Games, satellite Television with DVD movies and even a collection of music CDs. We had fun using the Kayaks and the row boat. The only thing I didn't like were the bugs, but that comes with nature and the outdoors. We would definitely go back.
