| So many good things to say about our stay at this lovely cottage. Gorgeous location and views from the cottage and dock! Huge windows surround you in the living areas. Not only do they offer panoramic views but when the windows are open, you get refreshing cross breezes (including from the sunroom), so the cottage never feels hot or stuffy. Not to mention there are large quiet ceiling fans in the 2 larger bedrooms, plus plenty of portable fans if needed. The beds are very comfortable, and there's lots of storage to put your clothes and belongings.
Swimming is fantastic! Crystal clear, no weeds or rocks. Hard packed sand bottom. Gradual entry from shore, and easy entry from ladder at the end of the dock. We didn't even need our water shoes. And it was so nice swimming next to crown land instead of in front of other cottages! That's very rare. Water temp was perfect, warm but still refreshing.
Kayaking is great too! Again, so nice to kayak close to shore next to crown land. Half the lake is just trees, rock walls, and wilderness. The other half is cottages. Very little boat traffic.
We saw deer and an otter and heard a rare owl at night.
There are trails right next to the cottage as well as just off the main road. Port Carling and Bracebridge are not too far. Highly recommend Portside Fusion restaurant in Port Carling, or The Old Station restaurant in Bracebridge. If you prefer to stay in and watch a movie, Netflix streaming is available. We will definitely come back!
