| My first time in this area landed me in a wonderful, private, beautiful, quiet spot! I'm a daily lake swimmer so McCharles Lake didn't disappoint!
The Loft was as advertised, with the bonus of picking blackberries right off the bush! Derek was a friendly, respectful, intelligent, & thoughtful host and Dora kindly got us nicely settled in!
Mimosa and I truly enjoyed lazing out in the screened-in porch! I don't get to see my BFF enough, so having her join me here made it just that much more fun!
This place is a photo op heaven, and a soul-filling haven. I had had 2 previous cottage rental experiences that were not good, so I am very pleased to say that I would love to come back!

| We have stayed a week at this traditional-style cottage in Renfrew County for three summers in a row, beginning in 2023—and we've already booked our fourth. It truly is our favourite peaceful escape.
Tucked away on a quiet, private property with a small, spring-fed lake, the cottage is surrounded by an abundance of nature. Mornings begin with coffee on the dock, watching the mist rise and the loons fish for their breakfast. Evenings wind down by the fire or under a sky full of stars.
The days are perfect for nature watching, reading, walking the trail around the lake, paddling, swimming, floating— and simply lazing about.
The cottage itself is clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything we need. The hosts are thoughtful and responsive.
Each stay brings the same sense of calm and relaxation we've come to treasure. If you're looking to step away from busyness, reconnect with nature, and breathe a little deeper, this place truly delivers. We couldn't recommend it more highly.

| My husband and I had an incredible week at The Loft in July with our dogs! Derek was a lovely and conscientious host from start to finish, answering all of our questions, and making sure we were comfortable and happy in our space (thank you for the garbage run!). Dora was on sight to welcome us on our first day and give us a quick tour of the cottage. She made sure we knew where everything was so we could get ourselves settled which was very much appreciated.
The cottage itself is clean and spacious, with a full kitchen and bathroom. We really appreciated having bedding and both bath and beach towels provided - less things to pack! The screened-in porch was the perfect spot to enjoy thunderstorms and a cold drink away from all the bugs. Wi-Fi was handy for streaming music, and there's no shortage of board games and access to Roku in case you want a little "inside" time.
As for the lake...it's wonderful! Just a few steps from the cottage, it's very clean and not too big, so you won't have to worry about motorboats flying through. You can enjoy a swim and some kayaking or canoeing in absolute peace. If you're looking for a quiet, little paradise where you can relax and unwind, this is the perfect spot! Please keep any canine friends you bring with you on-leash to respect the local wildlife and other residents nearby. We can't wait to come back!

| We had an amazing time at Derek and Andrea's (and Jesse's) slice of paradise. They were wonderful hosts, and the property is everything the ad promises and more. We had some wet weather to say the least, but a warm fireplace and covered screened porch solved that challenge nicely. We're already booked for a couple of weeks next year - can't wait!
