Cottage is on a semi-private beach where there's great swimming when the tide is in and wonderful walking on the sandflats when the tide is out. The beach changes every year and there's usually seaweed and some rocks as you enter so you may want to bring beach shoes which you can then leave on the beach as you continue your walk on the sandflats. Cottage has 3 bedrooms, four piece bathroom, outdoor shower, screened-in porch, large entranceway/ hallway and combined living room/kitchen area. Master bedroom has a queen size bed, rocking chair, antique wardrobe, desk and library; other bedrooms have double bunk beds with guard rails on the upper bunks.
There's a gas barbeque, chairs, coffee table and rocking chair on the screened in porch. Living room area has two couches, coffee tables and chairs. Kitchen area has table, chairs, pine cupboards, fridge/freezer, stove, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, kettle, dishes, cutlery, pots, pans and breadbox. We provide bedding and towels so all you need to bring is your food, toiletries and anything special you might need. There is also a library in the cottage in case you forgot your book or want to read a different one.
The owners live close by and are available if you need anything but the cottage is very private! Golf courses are in Amherst(20 mins), Pugwash(30 mins), Springhill(45 mins) and Sackville, N.B(30 mins) and are easily accessible. The Bay of Fundy and Joggins Fossil Cliffs/UNESCO site are about a 45 minute drive and the cottage is centrally located so that you can easily visit the provinces of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island for day trips. Halifax airport is a two hour drive and Moncton airport is an hour's drive.
Willet Point is a great place for a quiet and relaxing vacation but is not suitable for those who wish to party late into the night. We encourage people to come, relax and leave behind their iphones if they can(internet can be spotty and is connected via a modem from our house). There is an outdoor firepit and wood is supplied as well as great sunsets, excellent kayaking, swimming, seals, eagles, and shorebirds. One family who has rented several times also noted that "the location is perfect for a family of birdwatchers with the woods, the salt marsh and the ocean habitats to enjoy and explore. We recorded over 50 species including the ever-present willets and a spectacular bald eagle sitting on the sandbar one morning." In August blue-herons are plentiful!
NOTE: Pictures were recently updated as a few of our guests commented that "the pictures on your site just don't do this place justice!"

| Highly recommended. The pictures do not do this place justice. An absolute beautiful private cabin, steps from the ocean. Three bedrooms were perfect for a girls get away, lots of space. The warmth of the wood stove made it even more cozy. Big fire pit by the beach was a delight. It was a blessing to disconnect. No tv, no big deal there is so much to do. Lots of games, books etc. The wifi is not great but my friend who had to do some work just used her hot spot. The cabin has everything you need and if not Donna was more then happy and helpful if we asked for something. Her husband always made sure we were stocked up with firewood. We were made to feel right at home. Could not have asked for a better place to stay. I am already in the process of planning my next year's trip.

Owner response: Thanks Tammie and so happy you and your friends relaxed and rejuvenated! It was wonderful to meet you and looking forward to seeing you again next year. Also thank you for respecting the cottage and property and leaving it so clean and tidy when you left. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and winter well! Donna

| I would highly recommend a stay at Willet point. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need. It is nestled in the trees with a view of the water and a lovely ocean breeze. Donna and Jim are welcoming hosts who are readily available while being respectful of your privacy. There is an ample supply of fire wood and we were treated to warm muffins one morning. We had a great week building sand castles, swimming and walking on the sand bars. And there was an ice cream bar a few minutes away. We will definitely be booking for next year.

Owner response: Thanks Kim for your wonderful review and we are so happy that you and your family enjoyed your stay! You were a pleasure to host and we would love to have you back again next year. Also thank you for leaving the cottage and property so clean upon your departure and hope you have an enjoyable winter. Donna

| The cottage is cozy but spacious, and felt like home immediately. We used the fire pit almost every night and the hammock was also well used! The kayaks were also great to have access to. My daughter was followed by seals as she paddled! In fact a seal came quite close when we were out swimming too. The beach is great for finding hermit crabs, and seeing herons and all sorts of wildlife (even a deer on our last morning), though it has it's mucky spots. Swimming is good at high tide. It's a short drive to Northport Prov park, for a walk on the endless red sand bars. Donna and Jim are warm and welcoming, there if you need them but also giving you privacy. It was a wonderful vacation!

Owner response: Thanks Vanda and it was wonderful to have you and your family as neighbors for a week! So glad you experienced paddling with the seals and especially swimming with them as that is not as frequent. Also thank you for checking in on us after Hurricane Fiona who was very angry as she stormed through here. Fortunately the cottage and house, and more importantly Jim and I, were not harmed but we will be cleaning up the damage to the trees for months - gotta count our blessings as so many are worse off. Take care, enjoy your winter and hope to see you again, Donna

| Such a lovely cottage and owners! Great for nature and enjoying the sand flats or as a place from which to do day trips easily in NB, NS or PEI. All our kids had a great time and didn't miss a TV at all. Donna is such a great host and was available for any questions and to ensure we had what we needed while also giving us lots of privacy, plus she is a great baker! The cottage itself is great, has all the essentials while still retaining that wonderful cottage feel. Would love to stay here again if we didn't live so far away. Highly recommended!

Owner response: Thanks so much David for your wonderful review! It was great having you and your family for three weeks and, as mentioned to you and Laura, your kids are wonderful - so polite, friendly and curious. Also want to thank you for respecting our privacy as well and leaving the cottage so clean and tidy - much appreciated! You are welcomed back any time but it is a hike for sure - take care and hope you all stay healthy and happy and enjoy the fall season that is fast approaching, Donna

| If you want somewhere that you can just sit and relax this is the place for you. We couldn't get over how quite it is. Just so peaceful. Our 8 year old loved the Sand Flats and looking at all the different sea life. Great for hunting sea glass and shells. The owners were great and the hot out of the oven muffins they brought us were so unexpected and very delicious. The picture doesn't do this cabin and Justice. They have everything you need. All you have to bring is your suitcase and toiletries. We cannot wait to book again and go back. This is a great place to unplug and unwind. Great for couples, family or friends just to be together. They don't have a tv but in all honesty my son didn't miss it. If you are thinking of booking here do it. You will not be disappointed.
