| We stayed 3 weeks at Payton's Legacy and had the best, relaxing, worry free vacation!! Our 2 kids had an amazing time in the water and beach - kayaking was part of the daily routine! The cottage is extremely comfortable, clean and well organized. A total gem in a beautiful pocket of Ontario. Many museums/activities to do when the weather is challenging, which was a must for our family. We can't wait to go back again!!

| The cottage is lovely - nicely decorated, cheerful, great view, clean. However, one of the big draws of the cottage was the activity option of canoeing and kayaking to explore the island across the water (a "5 minute" or "15 minute paddle" depending on which description you're reading). We had great weather almost the entire week but all the time - the water was choppy, the waves got very large once in deeper water (worse with wakes from motor boat traffic) and the winds and currents were strong and changed quickly and unpredictably. So we were disappointed that an activity presented as one that could be done in little time and with ease was not an option. Even if you could get to the island in an hour (according to a neighbour - 1 1/2 hours one way in a row boat), you can't be assured of the same conditions coming back. Though we were experienced paddlers, it just didn't feel safe to do in a canoe or kayak.

| We have enjoyed a week at Payton's Legacy for the last 4 years each July. This is the first year we have been able to write a review and we are so happy to do so. You can't beat the view from inside or outside of the cottage. So peaceful and relaxing. Fires in the evening are the best. The cottage kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need and the cottage is very clean (this is a must for us). It has been amazing to see the water level change year over year. We have enjoyed the use of the canoe and kayak every year. Can't wait to go back next year.
