Launch your boat! There is a free access boat launch on Crane Lake. Boat fuel can be purchased on weekends at Crane Lake Marina.
Crown Land exploration - a significant portion of Crane Lake is surrounded by cottage-free Crown Land. There are several awesome camp sites in this region of the lake, in case you're feeling adventurous and want to dip your toes in the wild for a night.
Shopping - Parry Sound is a 25 minute drive north from the cottage, providing easy access to Sobeys, Starbucks, LCBO, The Beer Store, Orr's Fine Meats (literally the BEST bacon you will ever eat), Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Wal-Mart, Tim Horton's & various fast food options also available.
Dining Out - Crossroads (Rosseau), On the Green (Rocky Crest Resort), Blakes Memories of Muskoka, Trestle Brewing Co., Smashburgers are local favorites.
The Town of Rosseau - A quaint Muskoka town with local shops, restaurants and a farmer's market on Friday is about 30 minutes away. Crossroads for lunch or dinner, the Rosseau General Store and Aspen Valley Wildlife Rescue Centre are all popular stops.
The Town of Bala - highlights include mouth-watering rolls, cinnamon buns & chocolate donuts from Don's Bakery & classic summer concert venue The Kee to Bala - about a 45 minute drive.
The Town of Port Carling - quaint cottage country shopping and Stephen's Butchers (formerly Morley's -now run by Morley's son Stephen, of course) - about 45 minutes by car.

How do I make a reservation? Read the FAQ's below, then send Pete an email via the 'Contact Owner' section - mentioning any questions you have in that email. Next steps will be a phone conversation to be sure it's a great fit for your vacation, rental agreement review and signature and e-transfer of deposit.
How do I pay? We require 25% payment (e-transfer preferred) @ reservation, remaining 75% payment 30 days prior to check-in and a Visa/MC for $500 validation 1 week prior to check-in (not an actual charge but a 'hold' that expires 30 days later).
What is the minimum stay in July/August = 1 week minimum, mostly Sunday to Sunday
What is the minimum stay in May/June/September or October? 2 nights
Can I bring my pet? No - we cannot make any exceptions.
Do I need to bring my own bed linens, towels, tea towels? Yes
Do I need to bring drinking/cooking water? Yes
Is use of the canoe/kayak (x2)/paddle board included? Yes
Is propane provided for the bbq? Yes
Is firewood provided? Yes
How deep is the water off the end of the dock? About 8 feet
Is there wifi/internet? No internet access is provided. On purpose :-)
Is there a cellular signal at the cottage if I need to pick up email or take a call? You can usually get 2 bars of signal strength, but this could vary depending on what company you use.
Is there cable/satellite TV? No. On purpose :-) - there is a TV and a DVD player with some DVDs (not BluRay) in case of a rainy day.
Is there a free public boat launch on the lake? Yes

There is a hand rail on 1 side of the stairs throughout.
