Waterfront

Beautiful, newly renovated rustic cottage complimented by 120 year old hemlocks on crystal clear Cross Lake. Enjoy the sun on the dock starting in the morning through the afternoon and then enjoy the magnificent sunsets after dinner.
Watch the kids splash and play on the sandy bottom beach area that has a gentle entry from the shore. Navigate your way along the predominantly crown land shore lines in the kayaks and canoe, or do a short portage to the close by uninhabited lakes where you can drop a fishing line or just paddle and drift along.
In the evening, roast marshmallows around the campfire, which is in the centre of the newly landscaped stone patio, and surrounded by perennial gardens.
On rainy days, you can sit in the screened in porch or watch the wide selection of movies on the big screen TV.
Visit the quaint surrounding small towns or take a hike on the numerous trails in nearby Algonquin park. You can plan an afternoon to see famous Moore's falls by canoe, which is just a few minutes drive up the road.
The cottage has a separate deck with patio furniture, accessed through glass doors from the living room. There is also a look-out deck with chairs, over-looking the lake.

If I could give 10 stars I would.

From the moment of first contact Ron and Pauline make you feel very comfortable and welcome. Starting with booking all the way thru to the arrival and departure.

The cottage is beautiful inside and out and has plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the beautiful landscapes and surrounding nature. The maple syrup is easily a 10 out of 10. You'll see what i mean if you are lucky enough to book this lakeside oasis.

Beautiful dock with sandy bottom walk-in beachfront loaded with things to do. Fishing was fantastic as were the use of the kayaks and boats. Not to mention the sun exposure and sunsets.

We look forward to the day we can return. Ron and Pauline, thank you so much for your hospitality and laid-back vibe. Our family had a great time at your cottage.

Thanks for having us. easily a 10/10 experience.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hemlock cottage!! The owners were so welcoming, and greeted us when we arrived with a delicious bottle of their home made maple syrup. The cottage had everything we could have possibly needed in the kitchen, including knives that actually cut (a welcome bonus in cottage rentals)!
The cottage itself was very well set up, and had several fans to keep air moving when it was hot out. There was a lovely flagstone fire pit area that was perfect for the kids, as well as a deck overlooking the lake where we had our morning coffee and evening nightcap.
There are a lot of stairs to get down to the water, but they are beautifully maintained and at the waters edge there is a wonderful storage shed with a bar fridge in it that can hold drinks and snacks, so no need to head back and forth while at the water.
There is a huge new dock with seating, and a shallow sandy entry to the lake, which the kids enjoyed. They also provided a paddle boat, kayaks and a canoe which we used to explore the lake (which is lovely without many cottages outside of the bays).
On our rainy days, we were able to take advantage of the large tv and access to wifi, and also took a drive to Algonquin for an adventure one day.
I would highly recommend a visit to this cottage, and hope to return with our family soon. Thank you!!

We had a great stay at Ron and Pauline's cottage. The cottage itself is very nice with plenty of space and great landscaping outside. The waterfront is excellent with a gentle slope around the shoreline and a very shallow entry that makes it perfect for kids. Everything we needed or wanted was there and Ron and Pauline were very helpful. We would definitely recommend this cottage.

Just had a wonderful week long stay at Hemlock Cottage as a group of 4 girlfriends. Thoroughly enjoyed the calm, serene and peaceful lake. Spent many hours reading on the dock by water or on the lookout deck. It rained a few days but we took advantage of the extremely comfy living room and thoroughly stocked kitchen. They had everything you could possibly need. Just bring your food! There was a fluke power outage in the area for a few hours one evening but it made zero impact on our enjoyment. We just BBQ'd our entire dinner then sat around the fire in the dark. Would highly recommend! Thank you for a great vacation.

The pictures do not do this cottage justice. It is beautiful! It was very clean. We had a group of 4 and there was still lots of space. It was so nice having kayaks, canoe and boat there to use. We spent so much time on the dock and in the water.
The owners are right next door, and very friendly. We enjoyed spending time with them.
We hope to be back!
