Amazing fishing on Lower Buckhorn lake. Canoe and kayak use included in rental and dock available for use if you choose to bring your own boat. Buckhorn is home to one of the largest fine art festivals in Ontario, check the calendar of events online for more information.
The fine print:
While the beach is sand, there are also weeds. The bay is shallow so the water is usually very warm but by July and August there will be weeds and the bay can be weedy. You will be required to take your own garbage, recycling and organics to the dump, 5 min away, but a one time pass to dispose of your garbage is included with the rental. A $60 fee will apply to any garbage, recycling, organics or food (left in the fridge or cupboard) taken from the damage deposit. No smoking within the cottage. No pets allowed on the property. The main fridge/freezer in the cottage is compact but a second fridge is a available to use in the shed. The aluminum boat in photos is not included in the rental, however, boat rentals are available in Buckhorn on the same lake for reasonable rates. Two canoes and a sit on top kayak is included in the rental (paddles, lifejackets also included).
This is a magical spot perfect for water and nature lovers!

| If you're looking for a true cottage in the woods, this is the place! Located in a quiet cove with a sandy beach, warm, clear water and great fire pit - they even provide the wood! Truly, a great and relaxing place. We saw deer tracks on the beach in the morning, as well as herons, massive/impressive crows, hawks, frogs, fish...
Very convenient 15 mins drive to Buckhorn. LCBO, grocery store and a fantastic bakery. Try the donuts!
We had a small hiccup with the internet on our first day. We contacted the owners and they were on the issue immediately. They stayed in contact with us the entire time to ensure the internet was fixed. Amazing!
We only wished there were 2 kayaks but there's a huge canoe so not a deal breaker. :)
Don't hesitate to rent this place. You won't regret it!

| The perfect family getaway! This cottage felt like home as soon as we walked in the door. The huge open living/dining area was unlike any cottage we've stayed in before. To be able to walk out the door and be on our own private beach was a luxury. Our son lived in the lake while I read my book on the beach and my husband kayaked and fished in the surrounding waters. We had everything that we needed and the groceries and restaurants were 10 minutes away. We even spent a day golfing at Six-Foot Bay golf course about 15 minutes away. The washer and dryer are such a huge bonus for not having to pack as much clothing. It was an absolute pleasure to stay in this cottage. I can still hear the loons while we sat on the patio with a glass of wine after our son went to bed. Thank you Tania, for a wonderful vacation!

| This cottage was wonderful... and I mean WONDERFUL. It was so perfect for our small family. The sandy beach and shallow water was perfect for our 3 and 6 year old grandkids. The cottage is so well equipped we didn't want for anything. The dishwasher and washer/dryer were an added bonus. The cottage is very spacious with comfortable furniture and beds. Lots of space if you have a rainy day (but we didn't). The cottage is so centrally located that we were able to get into Buckhorn, Young's Point and Lakefield. The cottage is located in a quiet inlet that's a short boat ride to the local marina for ice cream. The fishing was tremendous .... perch, small mouth bass, pickerel, sunfish ... and wildlife sightings were great .... osprey, blue herons (did you know they nest in trees), geese, ducks, racoons, chipmunks. The owner was quickly accessible by email and so very helpful. The neighbours are super friendly and helpful as well. We will definitely be returning to this cottage next year.

| Great cottage, everything you need and more. This place is bigger then the pictures, and in a very nice area. You have your own little beach with sand, very clean. A dock that you can fish off of plus the bonus the use of the canoe!! Very tranquil and relaxing..and don't forget the marshmallows as there's a fire pit!!! Rooms are spacious, kitchen is great....it's a home away from home ...will definitely be contacting Tania for next year

| The cottage was perfect. It is actually much bigger than the pictures show. usually you are disappointed when you arrive at a rental but this was the opposite we were very pleasantly surprised. The beach area was so safe for my one year old to play in the sand and the water. The living area of the cottage is very large and comfortable. The owner was so helpful and accommodating. Having the washing machine and dishwasher were also great extras. you couldn't ask for a better location. we really didn't want to leave, we could have easily stayed another week or 2
