Welcome to Loon Lake Cottage Rentals. We pride ourselves on providing luxury family vacation properties that feel like a home away from home. Our two lakefront properties boast all the amenities you need to comfortably enjoy your stay in beautiful natural Muskoka, any time of the year.
Nestled into a private bay of Loon Lake, our cottages are surrounded by sprawling woodlands and forests home to a vast array of Canadian wildlife. Loon Lake is a pristine, clear lake free of weeds, and is habitat to plenty of fish, turtles, and a pair of Loons. It is a quiet lake greatly suited to canoeing, paddle boarding, swimming and water sports.
Across the lake is access to the Almaguin Snowmobile Trail system - 1000 of kms of trails that lead in every direction. Spend a day of adventure on the trails and return to the cottage for rest, relaxation and a hot tub to soothe your muscles.
You can also ride with the Algonquin West ATV Club, located on the west side of Algonquin Park, from the north end of Muskoka, to well north and east of South River. Over 80% of the trails are deep in the bush, mainly on Crown land.
Within the Town of Kearney, you can savour the taste of Kawartha Lakes Ice Cream, attend community events at the Town Hall, and pick up a day pass to access Algonquin Park's many hiking trails and lakes, accessible only by canoe.
Take a short drive north of Kearney to explore the historical village of Burk's Falls, home to a quaint village and waterfall on the shores of the picturesque Magnetawan River. Just a little further north lies the lovely town of Sundridge, a great tourist attraction providing shops, restaurants, boating and snowmobiling along the shores of Lake Bernard.
Almost everyone at the cottage loves to spend a day exploring Huntsville -from boutiques and restaurants, Kawartha Lakes Dairy, cultural events and the Algonquin Theatre, movies, bowling, swimming and walking trails, your day will be full of activity and fun. Visit Deerhust, Grandview, North Granite Ridge or Huntsville Downs for a day of golfing enjoyment.
And finally, remember to make some time for Arrowhead Provincial Park - Arrowhead has two moderately challenging mountain bike trails and five hiking trails; canoes are available to explore Arrowhead and Mayflower Lakes; bring your fishing rods for Rainbow Trout and Small Mouth Bass; and wear your water shoes for an adventure along the rocks of Stubb's Falls. In the winter, Arrowhead grooms and maintains more than 33 km of cross-country ski trails that are designed for classic skiing or skate skiing. The park offers a variety of hiking/snowshoeing trails as well as a skating rink and skating trail. There are two warm-up shelters and an open fire pit at the top of the tubing hill.
All this excitement and year round adventure awaits you when you book your stay with Loon Lake Cottages. Enjoy your morning coffee while listening to the loons, and plan your day of adventure at the cottage, on the beach, at the lake, or in the surrounding areas. Relax and enjoy tranquil evenings, or bond with family and friends under the stars at the campfire.
