As you sit on the deck just a few lengths of the paddle from the water, you can relax with a chilled glass of wine or an early morning coffee. The western view offers lovely sunsets that highlight the silhouettes of loons with their young, or paddlers making their way quietly through the water. Gentle breezes blow through the stately branches of mature hemlocks and the sights and sounds of nature's beauty will rejuvenate your soul! It is situated on Buck lake just 30 minutes north of Kingston, Ontario and minutes south of the lovely village of Westport, just off county road 10. An access point to Frontenac Provincial Park with many kilometres of hiking trails, is just a few minutes south on county road 10. There is an abundance of pleasant things to do in the area if you can pull yourself away from the lake. Our cottage is actually a fully renovated (2019) house with 2 full bathrooms and 3 bedrooms (queen beds), one of which is the entire second floor with it's own balcony and ensuite bathroom In addition, there is a spacious, newly renovated bunkie that offers an extra bedroom with bunk beds, a queen bed and it's own private deck. Come relax and listen as nature speaks to you! COVID19 Update: Health and safety is my highest priority and so I have hired professional cleaners from Kingston. I am confident that their extensive cleaning/ disinfecting protocol will keep all of us as safe as possible. As you can imagine, it is an extensive job to sanitize everything from kayaks, pfds, paddles, bbq and all outdoor furniture to indoor high touch surfaces including beds, furniture, light switches, etc.

| This was our 3rd year renting Paddler's Rest and it is delightful. Liz is a wonderful host who anticipates and tends to her guests every need. The cottage is modern, clean, and well appointed. The beds are comfortable and the view from the deck is stunning. Swimming from the dock is fabulous and the fishing is great, especially for the grandkids who caught and released several Bass in the 2 - 3 lb. range as well as many smaller Bass, Sunfish, and Perch. Access to the dock from the cottage could be improved as it as fairly steep and uneven, especially for the older folks.

| We enjoyed our stay at the Paddler's Rest cottage for the second year in a row. The interior is lovely and very functional, although the best features for us are outside: the awesome deck, the good swimming conditions, and the great options for touring Buck Lake in our kayaks.
Liz is a great host, very responsive when a couple of little issues needed sorting.

| We had a great week at Paddler's Rest. The cottage is beautiful with lots of space for sleeping, playing games, eating or just plain lounging around. The deck is huge and this is where we spent a majority of our time. The lake is peaceful and quiet. The fishing was fantastic although we mostly caught smaller fish lol. The dock is perfect to catch those afternoon sun rays. Blue, the neighbour's dog is a welcome, unexpected addition where you get a part time pet with no responsibilities lol. Liz is a wonderful host who was attentive to our needs. You will not be disappointed if you rent this cottage.

| Our vacation at Paddler's Rest in August was truly outstanding! Besides arranging for fantastic weather, Liz is a superlative host who ensured that our every need and desire was satisfied. Accompanied by our children and grandchildren, we thoroughly enjoyed the lake, Westport (Ice cream, pizza at the winery, the beach) and the locks at Newboro. The two grandsons caught many fish and enjoyed our neighbour Paul's swim raft and diving board as well as their beautiful hound dog Blue. We are very much looking forward to our week next year.

| This is a beautiful and spacious cottage on a spectacular lake! We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at Paddler's Rest. We had a large group but the cottage was spacious enough for all of us. We had 6 adults in the 3 bedrooms and 5 kids stay in the bunkie. The kids loved the bunkie and the parents loved the quiet nights with the kids in their own little cottage, lol. The main cottage is tastefully updated with a modern kitchen and bathrooms. There is a large dining table that accommodated all of us for family meals and games and there are plenty of items in the kitchen to make meals easy. The lake itself is beautiful and very peaceful and we had a lot of fun down at the new large dock which is great for swimming! This is a very peaceful and relaxing spot that any family would enjoy. Liz is also an excellent host and makes things very easy. We would definitely rent this place again.
