Situated close to the water's edge, listen to the soothing rhythm of the gentle waves lapping against the shore while you enjoy a summer's afternoon. Embrace the panoramic view of this large and picturesque lake facing west and feel the stress of the busy world fall away. Take refuge in the simple pleasures of cottage life, family, friends and easy living.
The cottage is set among the rocks, trees and water, typical of the Kawartha Highlands, adorned with white pines and cedars. These natural surroundings enhance the outdoor cottage experience.
Inside the cottage, an open concept kitchen-living area and dining area seats 8-10. Able to sleep nine, (6 adults, 3 young children - max 4ft tall), this cottage has three bedrooms off to one side, and a master bedroom on the upper level. There are 1.5 bathrooms on the main floor, side by side. For cooler evenings, or just for ambience, there is a propane fireplace featured in the living area, with a view of the lake.
The newly-added back deck, seats six people comfortably. A great place to enjoy your morning coffee and listen to the birds.
The lake is across the narrow cottage road, used only by local occupants. Twelve Mile Lake has a shallow entry and solid bottom, comprised of sand and pebbles, making entering the water at the shoreline easy. There is also an 8ft dock in full sun by noon, and a swimming platform that you can anchor from the shoreline at whatever distance you prefer.
A canoe provides water transport to explore the long, languid shores of Twelve Mile Lake.
The cottage is only 5 minutes from the village of Carnarvon. Carnarvon Family Golf is an enjoyable family outing or take a short trip to the nearby Boshkung Brewing to sample the latest in craft beer and great pub fare.
**Check-in: after 4:00pm and Check-out: before 10:00am
**Vacationer supplies their own linens: Sheets and pillowcases + Inside towels, kitchen towels and beach towels. Please inquire about other arrangements.
**Paper products: The cottage will provide enough to get you started, but vacationers must supply their own, including toilet paper and paper towels.
**Vacationers must bring their own adult life jackets, as well as children's life jackets due to safety and liability concerns.
