This easy access luxury 4 bedroom + 2 bath cottage is newly built, located just off the 118 along the gull river. This space offers a quiet getaway located on a 2 acre lot surrounded by public access trails, ideal for walking, and an excellent private hill. We are equipped with a personal skating rink in the winter months (weather permitting), 4 person hot tub, 2 smart TV?s, STARLINK internet Wifi, an air hockey table and a DVD player. In the winter months enjoy water sports, swimming, and soaking up the sun. We supply a canoe, two kayaks, a water mat, chairs and a motor boat (boating license required).
Located centrally between Minden and Haliburton, this property is less than a 4 minute drive to Abbey Gardens, where you can find great eats, beautiful trails, snow shoeing, and plenty of outdoor activities. You will also find the family (and pet) friendly Haliburton Highlands Brewing company located behind Abbey Garden?s. They?re equipped with outdoor fire pits to enjoy a brew of your choice, or hot chocolate for the kids. We are also only a 14 minute drive from Sir Sam?s Ski resort, which offers skiing, snowboarding?etc for the whole family, or Sir Sams spa for adults. Coming soon, we hope to partner with Sir Sam's Ski to offer discounts to those staying with us.
If you need to grab a bite to eat you can also check out fine dining at Rhubarb Restaurant, which is only a 7 minute drive away, and located in the same parking lot as Boshkung Brewery. If you need to step into town, neighbouring towns Minden (18 min drive), West Guilford (4 min drive) or Haliburton (13 min drive) have many restaurants, local businesses, LCBO, butcher shop, drugstores and grocery stores where you?ll find all your needs.
Our cottage is fully equipped with a wood burning fireplace to relax and unwind after a cold day outside, plus all the amenities you might need. From a washer and dryer to ensure your ski and snow gear are fresh and clean, to a fully functioning kitchen with stove, microwave, toaster, BBQ, coffee maker, basic coffee and the staples like sugar and oil, pots and pans, utensils, cups etc. We ask that you bring any milk/groceries you may require for coffee or tea. Water source is potable well water, from a drilled well, however you may choose to use bottled water for consumption or get free fresh town monitored well drinking water from Stanhope Airport Road (1 minute drive up the road).
Decorated for Christmas with a Christmas tree, and hundreds of LED coloured lights, this place is perfect for a family. This property is located in a prime location for family fun.
As a reminder, safety is our number one priority. We are adhering to all COVID 19 policies, and advise that guests abide strictly by government restrictions. Those found to be in violation will be asked to leave the property, and guests will not receive a refund.
We ask that all guests leave the place reasonably clean to allow for sanitization/deep cleaning after your stay. Please leave mattress and pillow covers in place. All guests to sort their garbage into clear garbage bags provided, separating garbage from recycling and flattening cardboard in a pile outside of a bag. If staying for more than a few days I will provide instructions for where to store the garbage. An additional cleaning fee of $250 will be applied and taken off your damage deposit if excessive garbage/mess is left, or if bags are not correctly sorted. Our municipality is VERY strict with garbage and charges high fees when items are not sorted correctly.
Please also note that this cottage is newly built, and being rented for the first time. We are still working on all the finishing touches. This means that bedrooms are sparsely decorated, and little details are yet to be completed, but rooms are equipped with a closet, hangers, and all bedding for your convenience. You may notice little things yet to be completed, but we hope that this will not prevent you from experiencing a great holiday. More pictures to come!
