We invite you to enjoy our piece of paradise, with its all day sun, crystal clear waters and breathtaking sunsets. It is a 2021 new build, 2900 sq. ft., four bedroom plus office, three bathroom, four season, modern but cozy cottage. The main floor has a huge, open gourmet joint hen/ living/dining space with gas fireplace, a three season glass/screen porch with wood fireplace, a mudroom, a powder room and a lovely master bedroom overlooking the lake with a large ensuite bathroom. The lower level, with its 9 foot ceilings and full walk out, has a large family/games/media room, a steam room, three bedrooms, a bathroom and a laundry room. There is a sperate office with a workstation, and one of the other bedrooms also has a workstation. There is a crib in one of the bedrooms and we have other baby equipment, including a high chair. There is great internet.
As of March 2024 we also have a hot tub!!
Enjoy the spectacular lake view from almost all interior rooms, as well as the screened/glass porch, the large deck off the living room and master, the lake-side deck (we call it the lower deck, part way to the water), our large dock and he hot tub.
It is fully winterized and a wonderful place to be any time of year.
In the summer, enjoy the sunrise from our dock, followed by lounging, swimming, walking, hiking and biking. You can canoe or kayak on our gorgeous lake, and even portage into stunning, uninhabited lakes for day or overnight trips. You can rent boats from the local marina, but we have two kayaks and a canoe you can use. In the Haliburton Forest, at the end of our street, in addition to hiking and biking, you can eat at the restaurant, visit the wolves, and do canopy tours. And the marina is a lively place where there is an outdoor patio with good food, drinks and music, as well as pickle ball courts! The Marina also offers art classes, camps and lots of special events!
In winter, enjoy snow shoeing and cross country skiing right from the cottage, either on the lake or in the trails behind our cottage. You can also snowmobile from our front door on our extensive, groomed snowmobile trails. A short drive takes you to groomed x-country trails and Sir Sam's ski hill is only about 40 minutes away. And the Haliburton Forest also offers dog sledding. We are big into winter campfires by the lake!
In the fall, enjoy our the beautiful fall colours and end the day with a roaring fire in our glassed in porch.
In the spring, we love watching nature bloom!
And of course, our sauna and hot tub are a relaxing delight, any season!
Our cottage is just under 3 hours from Toronto. You can get everything you need for your holiday at the West Guilford Store which is 15 minutes away, or in Minden, Gravenhurst or Haliburton. You can also pick up last minute supplies and have an ice-cream cone or cappuccino at the marina!
