| The location of this cottage is excellent, the beach is very close. We had a wonderful time and the cottage itself was great. I would recommend this to anyone. The owner is very good to work with, she made sure we had everything we needed. We hope to go back again next year! Thanks

| This cottage is not fit for rental. It is held together with duct tape, paint and extension cords. Everything, and I mean everything, is in poor repair and worn out. When we arrived, there were 2 bags of beer cans on the deck, the glass top tables were covered in sand and the screen door is held together with duct tape and dead flies.
The fridge froze all the produce we had bought at Costco. I had to throw out two heads of Romaine, 1 1/2 cucumbers, a bunch of radishes, a bag of apples and some new potatoes. When I tried to cook up the carton of mushrooms that had frozen solid, the large burner on the stove wouldn't heat up.
There is a crack the full length of the rear patio door, repaired with scotch tape. The screen is missing and has been replaced with one of those magic screens from Walmart. However, magnets are missing, so the insects can fly/crawl in and out at will. The living room ceiling has a frightening sag to it.
There is not nearly enough lighting. We had to take a lamp out of one room to put in the bedroom, because the light in there is burned out. And extension cords and power bars everywhere!
The mattresses are so old and uncomfortable that we left a day early, because our backs could not handle another night in those beds. All the bedding, towels, etc are very worn.
The exhaust hose on the air conditioner in the bedroom let go one afternoon (duct tape came unstuck) and filled the cottage with hot air all afternoon.

Owner response: Good day Janet, Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We take your feedback seriously so we can take the necessary steps to address any issues. I'm saddened to hear that your experience was not to your satisfaction. My sincere apologies for your experience. The property management company has followed up with the cleaner concerning the two bags of beer cans on the deck, and why there was sand on the patio table: again, my apologies. The front screen is replaced each year as it gets damaged. The back screen has been the cottage concept for many years. We had the property manager adjust the fridge temperature; we would like to reimburse you the cost of your produce due to the inconvenience; I sent you an e-mail. Thank you once again as it has prevented the following guests from having the same experience. The stove element has also been looked at; it was not connected properly. The back patio door has a crease in the black-out film, no damage. The scary roof is due to the original roof that we cannot remove, we installed a new roof that covers the cottage completely as the cottage has several add-ons. We recently bought a King size mattress, this year we added a foam pad as I found the mattress on the hard side and not our preference. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. I personally checked all bedding and towels and replaced what did not meet the standard prior to opening this season, I'm very sorry if I missed something. Sincerely, Gwendolyn | |
