Waterfront

Gorgeous and secluded lakefront property on the south end of Knowlton Lake. Perfect lake for swimming, canoeing, kayaking and fishing in summer and ice skating, ice fishing and XC skiing in winter. Large lake side dock for easy swimming and canoeing/kayaking access and for relaxing lakeside in the sun. A shallow area on the shore side of the dock is great for kids (and there is a lovely sandy beach just 15 mins drive away at Gould Lake). Enjoy a large cottage-side deck for those long lazy summer afternoons and evenings, adjacent BBQ and a fabulous screened-in porch with dining table.

(Please note: during the main season - Friday before 15 June to Friday before 15 October, we only take bookings of 1 week or more -- Friday to Friday.)

Knowlton Lake is a lovely clear, spring-fed lake with very little weed - great for swimmers. It is also an excellent fishing Lake (trout, bass, etc) and the cottage is less than 1 km from the public boat launch. Available for use at the cottage is a Grummond canoe and Clear Water kayak and we have a range of different sized life vests for use.

The Cottage living areas are spacious and it has three bedrooms - one queen bed in a large primary bedroom (plus a single mattress for an extra child), double and single beds in one other bedroom, and a double in the last. There is one main bathroom with a large bath and separate shower and the primary bedroom has its own powder room. Two sitting areas (one with a gas fire and the other with a wood stove), forced air ground source heat pump heating or cooling, fully equipped kitchen and home theater with Bell fibe internet make this the perfect cottage for resting and relaxing in either summer or winter.

Great location with wonderful wildlife all around. Lake is great for kayaking and hosts are responsive.

Another lovely week at the cottage. Were happy to return this year and forget about COVID for awhile. Thank you for making the cottage available to us. Hope we can do it again next year as well.

A really interesting cottage with a beautiful and quiet location. Very well equipped and clean. Close to two provincial parks, one that offers a sandy beach for swimming and trails for hiking, the other offering many options for hiking. Owners provide lots of helpful information. The cottage is well named.

Thank you so much for the wonderful weekend! From the moment we began the drive down your beautiful leaf covered lane I knew that this was the place for us. The cottage is so cozy and offers every convenience of home. We fell in love with the location on hill and the views from virtually every window! Although it was cooler, we all enjoyed being on the water and exploring the lake. We started each day with morning coffee in the hot tub and enjoyed a final dip in the evening before bed. When we weren't on the water our family enjoyed games around the table and family movie nights on the big screen!

Owner response:
Thanks Doug and we are all so glad you and your family had a lovely, relaxing time. Thank you so much for taking the time to provide a review! Warm regards, Colleen and Matthew

We had a wonderful time at the cottage! It was very hot, so it was nice to be by the lake but also have air conditioning inside. The lake was beautiful and clear and we saw a lot of wildlife when we were there. It was quiet and wonderful for canoeing/exploring. There was a lot of space for our family to spread out, and enjoyed watching movies at night on 'the big screen'. The hosts were accommodating on our arrival and departure as well. I would recommend this cottage for sure :)
