| We absolutely enjoyed our week at Derbyshire. Jon was very responsive to our questions. The kitchen was well stocked with any kind of pots, pans, plates etc. The bathroom was a fair size with decent water pressure. The downstairs living area was a perfect place to relax after a full day outside. Having the 2 decks on different levels meant we could find sun or shade at any given time of day. We spent so much time outside, enjoying morning coffee, afternoon drinks - sun rise always spectacular. The bay where the cottage was situated was perfect to park our pontoon boat. Entry to the water for swimming was great.

| We had an enjoyable stay at Derbyshire cottage. The cottage is comfortable and cozy. Swimming was great, sandy entry at the shore, transitioning to some weeds but easily able to swim past them to deeper water. Lots of outdoor seating available with 2 decks and a dock, with lovely views of Charleston Lake. Jon and Lin are kind, keen to please, reliable and very responsive.
Some things to note: cottage is built on a rock face so numerous stairs, which may pose a problem for young children and those with mobility issues. No outdoor areas for playing outdoor games but fire pit is available, bring own firewood. Watercraft provided with the rental are quite dated so if you are keen to be on the water you might consider bringing your own or renting. We did enjoy the row boat. Bring your own linens for kitchen, bed and bathrooms. Also all toiletries, dish and hand soap, shampoo, cleaning products etc must be brought with you. Also bring garbage bags, foil, paper towels etc. Price point for the rental very good, however, so one would expect to be required to bring such necessities. Ample kitchen dishes/ cookware provided.

| We had an amazing time! The weather was excellent for swimming and kayaking. There were geese, turtles and chipmunks. The water in the bay is crystal clear and warm. Coffee on the dock in the morning and star gazing at night. The view from the deck(s) and dock were calming and beautiful. The cottage is cozy and well maintained. We enjoyed playing Scrabble and movies on the big screen TV. The last 3 days were rainy and windy which were perfect for cuddling up downstairs on the couch with a blanket, book and coffee while enjoying the view through the large windows. Jon and Lin were a delight and we can't thank them enough for our wonderful relaxing retreat!

| Lovely views of the lake from two decks and a generous dock. The great room looks out over the water. Comfortable seating for reading. Sun most of the day in Early September. Nice swimming and beach area. Sand bottom easy to walk into the lake.

| We had an amazing time at Jon's cottage ! The cottage is very clean and has everything you need to have a good time. The kids had fun catching huge bluegill's right off the dock ( small pieces of steak or worms worked best !) .. we made good use of the watercrafts and the 14' aluminum boat was perfect to explore other deeper parts of the lake to catch some decent 3lb bass and a northern pike.
The tap water is drinkable, so you can use it for cooking.. we brought a couple cases of bottled water anyway. Closest town was 10min away and had a nicely stocked grocery store.. we also drove 30min to a superstore in brockville on one of the rainy days.
Jon was kind enough to take us out for a ride on his speed boat too !
We will definitely be back next summer unless we buy a small cottage of our own.
