Wake up to the sound of loons calling across the glassy surface of Miller Lake. Step outside onto your wraparound deck, coffee in hand, and watch the morning mist rise off the water as the Bruce Peninsula comes alive around you. This is Loon Lodge -- a stunning, spacious waterfront cottage on the shores of Miller Lake, and your perfect Ontario summer escape.
Whether you are planning the ultimate family cottage week, a getaway with friends, or simply a chance to unplug and breathe in that fresh Bruce Peninsula air, Loon Lodge delivers everything you have been dreaming of -- and a view that will stay with you long after you have headed home.
THE COTTAGE
Loon Lodge is a beautifully appointed two-level, 2,000 sq ft waterfront cottage set on a large, shaded, grassy lot right at the water's edge on Miller Lake. From the moment you arrive, you will understand why guests return year after year.
The cottage is designed to make the most of its incredible lakefront setting. Dramatic floor-to-ceiling picture windows flood the interior with natural light and frame breathtaking, unobstructed views of Miller Lake from every angle -- so whether you are cooking breakfast in the kitchen, relaxing in one of the two spacious living areas, or gathered around the dining table for an evening meal, the lake is always with you.
Upstairs and downstairs, Loon Lodge offers generous, comfortable living space across two full levels -- giving families and groups the room to spread out, relax, and truly feel at home.
Layout:
Loon Lodge comfortably sleeps your whole group across four well-appointed bedrooms.
Bedroom 1 - Upper Floor: Queen bed.
Bedroom 2 - Upper Level: Full bed.
Bedroom 3 - Lower Level: Queen bed.
Bedroom 4 - Lower Level: Two twin beds.
All beds have allergen protective mattress pads, and two pillows will allergen protective covers. All other bedding can be provided at an extra cost.
BATHROOMS
Loon Lodge features two full bathrooms, each with a walk-in shower, to comfortably accommodate your group throughout your stay -- so there is no bottleneck on those busy cottage mornings before a big day of adventure.
TWO LIVING AREAS
One of the things that makes Loon Lodge so well suited to families and larger groups is having two separate living spaces.
Main Living Room: The upper-level living room is the heart of the cottage -- a warm, inviting gathering space surrounded by large picture windows with stunning lake views. Perfect for cozy evenings, board games, or simply curling up with a book while watching the loons drift by on the water below.
Lower Level Living Room: The ground level living area provides a second comfortable retreat -- ideal for kids to spread out, play games, and watch movies. With direct access to the lower deck and the waterfront, it is perfectly positioned for indoor-outdoor cottage living.
KITCHEN AND DINING
The fully equipped kitchen at Loon Lodge has everything you need to cook and enjoy meals together as a group. Stock up at one of the nearby grocery stores in Lion's Head or Tobermory and settle in for a true home-away-from-home experience.
The dining room sits right beside the large picture windows overlooking Miller Lake -- making every meal, from a casual breakfast to a relaxed dinner, a scenic experience. And when the weather is perfect, take the party outside to the wraparound deck for al fresco dining with the lake as your backdrop.
THE WRAPAROUND DECK
The large, wraparound deck with glass railings is one of the signature features of Loon Lodge. The glass railings keep the views completely unobstructed from every seat, so nothing stands between you and that incredible panorama of lake, sky, and forest. The deck is generously sized, with plenty of room for outdoor dining and lounging. It is where morning coffees are savoured, where meals linger, and where the most memorable cottage conversations happen.
THE WATERFRONT AND DOCK
Loon Lodge sits right at the water's edge, with its private dock providing direct access to Miller Lake for swimming, boating, and simply soaking up the sun.
The shoreline features a rocky edge with a beautiful sandy bottom -- wonderful for swimming off the dock. The water is very shallow close to shore (1 to 3 feet), making it safe and perfect for all ages.
The dock is ideal for canoes, kayaks, and small sailboats. Small motorized boats are possible, but guests should be mindful of the shallow water and rocks near the shore -- dock at your own risk.
A canoe is included with your rental -- so grab a paddle and explore Miller Lake at your own pace. Morning paddles on a glassy lake with the mist still on the water are among the most magical experiences the Bruce Peninsula has to offer.
THE LAKESIDE FIRE PIT
As the sun goes down over Miller Lake and the stars begin to appear over the Bruce Peninsula, gather around the lakeside fire pit and let the magic of cottage evenings do the rest. The fire pit is steps from the water's edge -- the perfect setting for roasting marshmallows, sharing stories, and creating the kind of memories that last a lifetime.
There is nothing more quintessentially Canadian cottage than a lakeside fire under a sky full of stars. At Loon Lodge, this is your every evening.
WALKING DISTANCE TO SUMMER HOUSE PARK
One of Loon Lodge's most convenient features is its location within walking distance of Summer House Park -- a wonderful local amenity that makes your stay even easier and more enjoyable. Summer House Park offers kayak and sailboat rentals, a convenience store for those forgotten essentials, an ice cream and coffee shop for your daily cottage ritual, and a restaurant and pizza shop for when you want some time off from cooking.
EXPLORE THE BRUCE PENINSULA
Loon Lodge is perfectly positioned as your base for exploring one of Ontario's most spectacular regions.
Tobermory is just minutes away -- explore the turquoise waters and famous shipwrecks of Fathom Five National Marine Park, take a glass-bottom boat tour, or browse the charming shops and restaurants of the harbour.
Bruce Peninsula National Park offers iconic hiking trails through ancient cedar forests to dramatic cliff-top views over Georgian Bay. The Grotto, one of Ontario's most photographed natural wonders, is a must-visit.
The Bruce Trail runs through the area, offering hiking opportunities for every level from casual family walks to full-day wilderness adventures.
Lion's Head is a charming nearby town with a beach, grocery stores, restaurants, and local shops for everything you need during your stay.
