FAMILY RETREAT OR GREAT FISHING
This great four bedroom cottage facing west has a great living space indoors and out with unbelievable sunsets. Relax outside on the Muskoka chairs during the day and enjoy the fire pit by night. For the kids there is a swing set with a slide and a contained sand pit. Access to the water is via the dock and the water reaches chest height. A sturdy dock ladder gives easy access to the water. If the weather isn't good we have lots of board games to entertain you as well as satellite TV and high speed wireless internet.

Note: The cottage is located on Rice Lake 1.5kms from the Village of Hastings. It is a 4 bedroom and sleeps 5-8 people easily. Directly on the lake, there is docking for up to a 25' boat. Swing set for the kids and a fire pit for those summer night camp fires. The cottage faces west over the lake the sunsets are rememberable.

My children and I rented this cottage for a week so we could all come together under one roof and reconnect after so much time apart. The cottage was great, with everything we needed including blackout blinds on all the windows. Chris, the owner, is super to deal with and very accommodating, always responding to inquiries quickly. The large dock and water toys provided hours of fun and relaxation and everybody had fun catching fish off the end of the dock. A cool breeze off the lake during the day was refreshing. We would rent this cottage again. Neighbours are close, but permanent residents were charming and friendly and guests at neighbouring cottages were friendly and respectful. Town of Hastings is 2 minutes away for most of your needs and anything you can't get there, you can get in Campbellford, just 15 minutes away. We had lots to do and were never bored. We all agreed we would gladly rent this cottage again. Thanks to Chris for everything.

We had a wonderful time at Chris' cottage. It was clean and welcoming. The dock and water toys meant for hours of fun for our young kids.
The cottage had several things that are often overlooked by rental owners. It had blackout blinds on all the windows, comfortable beds, and every kitchen gadget you may need. It was like being at home but with the beautiful lake to stay cool in! The swing set was also an added bonus for the kids to stay busy when we weren't in the water.
The only downfall is the lack of privacy between neighbours. But everyone was friendly and respectful. And some cedar hedges have been planted, so I imagine it won't be long before there is some added privacy.
We would go back in a heartbeat!

We spent a week at this cottage in early August. Very happy about the location, excellent sunsets, waterfront was great. The cottage itself was fantastic. Interior was clean, updated and provided everything we needed. Chris was very easy to deal with and supportive of our needs.
Would highly recommend this cottage.

We had such a relaxing week at this lovely cottage. The cottage was very well equipped and had everything we needed. The dock was perfect for our boat and the trees provided shade in the afternoon. The sunsets were beautiful and fishing off the dock for our son was the highlight. The neighbors were friendly and although close they respected our privacy. The campfires were perfect and Chris provided the fire wood was so generous. Chris was so professional, kind and genuinely cared. We were provided password for the internet, how to access the keys and a very nice email making sure we arrived safe and had settled in. The beds were comfy and although the cottage had renovations there was still parts of the cottage that had its charm. Thank you Chris for allowing us to rent your cottage for the week.

This was an amazing , relaxing cottage vacation from beginning to end. We spent a week there in August of 2018 and enjoyed the cottage and surrounding area. The cottage was clean and everything was in great working condition as promised. Beds were comfortable and every room had a fan for those hot nights.
The kitchen had lots of supplies and plenty of seating. The dock was nice to park our 18' boat and we used the canoe for some local fishing. We had a walk in a water area to play with our dogs as well. The wifi was strong and satellite TV was good for relaxing at night.
We had plenty of wood for our nightly fires.
We spent allot of time on the water fishing and tubing. The fishing was also good off the end of the dock. While swimming off the dock, there was no weeds and the water was beautiful. We boated into the local town of Hastings and picked up groceries and a local pizza. We also visited Peterborough mall one afternoon and did a day trip to Bobcaygeon.
My son and I also went further up river fishing many of the islands for bass. This cottage had some Amazing sunset evenings and lots of room for our family of 5 plus pets. Overall- one of the best cottage weeks we have had. Owners always answered all questions and were very helpful in planning our trip. Chris, thanks for the use of your cottage. We have some wonderful memories that we stay with us for a lifetime. I would recommend this cottage for anyone looking to have a great family vacation.
