| I have stayed at this property four times (so far!) with my group of friends over the years - it is simply a spectacular cabin, in a secluded, picturesque, quiet area on the lakefront. The interior is bright, with vaulted ceilings and large windows; the kitchen a great size, and full appointed. The central fireplace is amazing, and is the nightly post-dinner gathering spot. The multi-floor design is perfect for space and privacy for family and friend reunion trips. It is always a treat to kayak and explore the lake, or paddleboat around the neighborhood! The cabin is perched on a rise, and it is a pleasant walk down to the dock, with plenty of watercraft options (all in good shape). Finally, the owners are incredibly hospitable, and attentive to details; as others have mentioned, they are responsive to any concerns, from the time of the initial booking to the conclusion of your stay. I look forward to my next trip out to Stafford Bay

| My sister and I and our families (10 adults in total) have had the distinct pleasure of spending a week at Stafford Bay for the past three years. This cottage became our "home away from home" for all of us - we knew exactly what to expect when we walked in the door, and within minutes, we had all found the comforts we were looking for.
You would need for nothing while staying at Stafford Bay - the most fully equipped cottage ever. As 10 "foodies", we had everything we needed to create memorable meals. We had the space to gather each evening and connect on a different level.
We would count down the days in a family group chat from the moment we booked the cottage, with routine messages like "only 210 days until we cottage together". Stafford Bay gave us core memories that will be with us for a lifetime. Such a beautiful, quiet place for all of us to find ourselves each year.
You can't go wrong booking this cottage - such a magical place for family experiences and gatherings. Enjoy!

| This cottage was amazing for our family of 8 with separate spaces basically for each of the three couples and kids. The upper balcony was large and very well set up for us to enjoy casual play time and dinner every night.
The toys in the basement provided immediate and ongoing entertainment for the kids.
The pedal boat provided quick easy access to the swim dock where much swimming was enjoyed while the kayaks and paddle boards were excellent recreation.
Finally the host was amazing, always responding quickly to our questions.

| Cottage itself was beautiful and large. We loved the kitchen, the space and the large deck. However, i cannot give it a better rating nor will we return next year for the following reasons (and i wish other renters had mentioned in reviews): 1) there is no way to swim right off the dock (also, note the dock is very small and a good walk down a hill from the main cottage) - there are SO MANY reeds and weeds...it is like a swamp. In order to swim, you have to commit! While there are many great water toys, you need to either SUP/kayak/canoe/paddleboat to the swim dock to swim (and there are even reeds/weeds around the swim dock area). Therefore, it was not a simple of matter of jumping in and out of the water as we (adults and kids) like to do. Therefore, we swam and spent far less time in the water than we normally do on our annual cottage get away.
2) There are 5 Queen beds (bedding included). However, 3 of 5 were not comfortable and we all played the goldielocks game of bed swapping to find a bed that suited us.
3) Owners were responsive. However, when i mentioned i couldnt find coffee filters, they sent some out - and then wanted to charge me 25 dollars for the service by deducting it from the "damage deposit"! Further, they attempted to take another 50 dollars off the "damage deposit" bc the cleaners had to wash all the sheets for the 5 beds and all towels - and claimed this took extra time. Luckily, I argued against both fees and received my full deposit back

Owner response: 1)We use an aquatic weed cutting service every year and in the more than 15 years of renting the cottage to guests, have not had complaints about the weeds. 2)All the mattresses have been replaced in the last 2 years and the beds have varying levels of firmness which will appeal to different people. 3)The guest could not find the coffee filters we provide at no charge. We asked our property manager to drive to the store and deliver more filters to the cottage. She charged us $25 for the service. The guest later found filters exactly where we said they were, but by that time it was too late. The guest neglects to mention that we offered to absorb this cost almost immediately without her having to object. She also doesn't mention that we paid to set up a cottage Netflix account for her to use because she was unable to access her private account from the cottage. 4)The extra cleaning fee requested was to cover additional cleaning charged by our staff because the cottage was left much messier than usual (not for sheets and towels which we wash after each guest's departure). When the guest objected, we absorbed the additional cost as a goodwill gesture. | |

| This cottage checked all the boxes for our large group. It was clean and well organized, and oh so beautiful. Russell was easy to coordinate with, and quick to answer any questions. Lot's of space inside to spread out on those gloomy days. Young children have the awesome adventure nook upstairs, older kids have games room in the basement. Kitchen was impressively stocked to service all our cooking needs. Deck outside had loads of space for everyone to sit for dinner or relax for games in the evening. No shortage of bathrooms, with three we never had to wait. Water toys were great and allowed us easy access to the swimming platform. Town close by for exploring or to grab necessary supplies. And of course, the fishing is outstanding! The fish cleaning station worked great. Thank you Russell. We look forward to our return next year.
