I was very disapointed by that location....The refrigirator would froze everything you put in IT, there was a mouse in the cottage and poop mouse in the utensiles rack and on the toaster, at night I would have to fight with lots of flies coming out of nowhere, IT smell humidity when coming on the cottage like it's been abandonned.....The beds were highly uncomfortable son I slept on the couch where at least IT didn't smell to much....Awfull !! Stay away from that place. We work hard to get our Money to go on vacation....That was unfair and I left before the END of the location....

Owner response:
We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the cottage. The cottage is in a meadow and and very rustic. In the fall, sometimes, a mouse can sneak in. If you had mentioned your concerns to us during your visit we certainly would have done our best to address them immediately.

My Cape Breton Island retreat for 4 separate trips now spanning 10 years. Great rustic cottage in a beautiful location with a private lake and waterfall. Just off the Cabot trail and close to the Englishtown ferry connecting you quickly to the Bras Dor lakes. Ruth and Aaron are great hosts and very helpful when you need assistance with anything.

August 2024. Very beautiful rustic cottage in the woods. For people looking for THE chalet with the latest innovations and cozy comfort, this is not for you. However, everything is functional. Peace and quiet guaranteed, far from the road? five o'clock aperitif on the gallery without mosquitoes? it vas great! Very warm, welcoming and helpful owners. We spent a most pleasant week there. At night, from our window, we could see thousands of stars. Thanks again to Ruth and Aaron for offering us this natural and enchanting setting.

Imagine a vacation rental with its own waterfall and lake. Magical. The cottage is modest but cozy and has everything you need. It is well
located in relation to other places you may want to visit in Cape Breton. This cottage is ideal as a haven and as a base for exploring. At first, I would have been glad for wifi and cell reception, but soon I was gladder for their absence. Ruth and Aaron were welcoming, lovely hosts and two really interesting and thoughtful people.

Authentic cabin experience in the woods of Cape Breton! Great for a couple wanting to get away for a rustic getaway, and also for families. I was travelling alone with my three daughters, and they really enjoyed the waterfall and the lake. Every cooking utensil and pot was in the most reasonable spot, with wood and starter on the front porch for the stove. A lot of care and thought was put into the details, which I appreciated. Ruth and Aaron were helpful and gracious, the perfect hosts.
