These spectacular cottages have been lovingly maintained by the same family for five generations. Almost a century ago, the Carver/ McKnight families chose this site for its incomparable beauty and forever privacy. This is where they envisioned spending many happy days with their children and their children's children.
If you are looking for a shiny new cottage with all the bells and whistles, this is not it. If you are looking for a wild and crazy time and, party central, this is not it. If you need a place where you must be connected to everyone but your family, this is definitely not it.
But, if you are looking for a true cottage experience, welcome home our friends. Accommodations and beds are comfortable beyond belief, the beach the best in cottage country and, Soyers Lake itself? Shhh, tell no one, the best kept secret in Ontario cottage country.
Both cottages are included and feature king-sized master bedrooms. The larger of the two contains the kitchen, living room, dining room as well as a games room. It comes equipped with a smart TV, DVD player and bluetooth speaker. The kitchen is full service with fridge, stove, microwave, toaster and drip coffee maker. The dining room table extends to accommodate 10. The larger cottage has 2 bedrooms with 3 additional bedrooms in the other cottage, sleeping a combined 10 people in comfort. There are sinks with running water in all 5 bedrooms with a 4piece bathroom in the main and a 2piece in the cabin. Air tight wood-burning fireplaces in both cottages and living rooms in both. The barbeque is a propane Napoleon 2023.
Soyers Lake is part of the famous 5 lake chain of Haliburton County so there is plenty of water to explore. The 250 feet of lake frontage faces southwest and includes a full width beach with gradual entry and sandy bottom. Swimming at the cottage just doesn't get any better than this. The beach is most prominent in August, when the water has gone down. On one side of the cottage there is a solid rock face which provides total privacy from your next door neighbor. The property has a gradual slope from the cottage to the water, but still ideal for lawn games. The beautiful 200 sq ft dock is perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee, or glass of wine as the sun goes down. If you have a motor boat or want to rent one at nearby Harper Marina or RPM, the dock can accommodate mooring an 18ft boat. In addition there is a fire pit for those evening marshmallow roasts and plenty of outdoor furniture for your use.
Area activities Pinestone and Blairhampton golf courses are 3.2 km from the cottage. The Wolf Centre, Walk-in-the-Clouds, Haliburton Museum, Kinmount Movie Theater, Sir Sanford Fleming School of the Arts, etc. are all within easy driving distance. The village of Haliburton which includes grocery stores (Foodland and Independent), deli, butcher, beer store, liquor store, bakery and many other shops etc. is approximately 10 km away. Kawartha Dairy which is noted for its ice cream is about 20 km away.
