This lovely piece of lakefront property has been in the Wallace family for over 75 years. It is situated on 10 very private wooded acres with 260 feet of lake frontage. There are two cottages on the property-one on top of the hill overlooking the lake and the Bottom Cottage nestled halfway down the hill-closer to the beach. The Top Cottage is used by the Wallace family. We have been renting the Bottom Cottage for decades and are proud to report that most of our renters are long time returning families. It is a delight to see these folks year after year. The Bottom Cottage replaced the original cottage and was designed by local architect Adolpho Spaleta. This 4 bedroom, open concept cottage has 2 bathrooms, a fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, a large deck/ patio overlooking the lake with a BBQ and elegant dining table. A recent addition is heated outdoor shower for the kids to wash the sand off from a day at the beach and for the adventurous to get clean in the woods. The cottage is available from May through September. It is important to note that there is a landline phone. Cell phone reception is spotty and unfortunately wifi is not available in this area. Remember you are on vacation!!!!!! The Beach is reached by a lovely path that includes some steps (very manageable for children and most adults). May be a concern for those with mobility issues. Our beach is secluded with sand and stone depending on the wind the previous winter. The sunsets are some of the best in the world and the swimming is great. Our property is bordered by a stream with a great clay bottom-fabulous for children to paddle and muck around in. For the adventurous you can walk south on the beach to the town of Goderich in about one hour.Going north along the beach the same distance is Point Farms Provincial Park.
There are beach chairs and and a shaded landing. The nearby Library and BIA in Goderich offer free wifi. As does Cait's Cafe who make the most delicious croissants and breakfast sandwiches in SW Ontario! From Victoria Day through to Thanksgiving there is a terrific Saturday morning Farmers' Market around the Court House Square. Maitland Market on Hwy 8, a few miles out of town offers all sorts of yummy local foods Monday to Saturday. And... of course there is a cream doughnut waiting for you at the historic Culbert's Bakery.

| This was our second stay at the Wallace Cottage and it was as perfect as the first time. The cottage accommodated and entertained our diverse group of children, parents and grandparents with sunsets and fires on the beach, the patio, and the view. Can't wait for next year!

| Our family had a wonderful time at the Wallace cottage. Mary and Jim were very accommodating and helpful; from tips on where to shop and places to explore to extra bedding and cottage supplies. The cottage itself is beautifully kept and well stocked . The lights on the path down to the water's edge were especially lovely and the outside hot and cold shower was a real hit with the kids although grownups enjoyed too. Lots of shade and great property to explore. Thank you Mary and Jim for a great experience.
